I had tons of interactions with officers probably 10-12 years ago (work related stuff). Bunch of limp dick NPCs. Relatives of mine in the army/marines say the same thing. IIRC, the critics hated the miniseries because they didn't think this would happen here. The other reason that they hated it was because it exposed the truth about the communists living among us.
