Maggie’s "The Truck"

Did someone mention seat covers?
Got these from Rebecca on Christmas and they are custom made for my 04 Superduty.
Gonna install them tomorrow after I wash and vacuum that dirty bastard

Noice Senor Casselton. I'm think along the lines of maybe CoverKing or even Seatcoversunlimited. :p And please, pay no attention to the other guy up above there. He's been on the gas AND he's drinking. Again. :) Or maybe it should be 'some more'. I dunno. Either way, as a friend, just be careful. ;)

I'll post pics after I get them installed. They even have the back pocket built into them.

Funny thing about these covers. Rebecca and I were discussing covers about a month ago and I really had my heart set on a pair of marsh grass type covers. Then nostalgia kicked in and I remembered my first set I bought for my 73 Blazer. I loved them. Cool in summer and warm in the South Dakota winters.
So, the search began and I found what I was looking for from Seat covers unlimited.
My darling wife got me a set for Christmas. And a CZ-527 in 6.5 Grendel, and some dies, 100 rounds of Hornady black and some Sturgis beef jerky.

You see, AJ! This guy knows his stuff. It may 'say' Mexican on the box. But they're as all-American as a breakfast Chalupa as far as I am concerned!

Cheers,

Sirhr

And on a somewhat more serious note, these are actually gonna fit the bill just about damn perfect. I could care less how abused they get. Take'm off and wash'm. Done. If I really screw'm up, I'll just replace'm. Simple. I do appreciate you guys giving me the info on these. I really didn't want to go with the Neoprene.

Pimp yo' ride out, player!

Im going waterproof due to a lot of whitewater time in the summers with wet clothed persons riding in my truck. That stench just wont come out of a seat, ask me how I know.....
also, 3 kids aged 4, 5, and 6 in the backseat tend to spill stuff.
Im getting waterproof Cordura, not neoprene. Custom made here, gonna get grey to match the seats now and going to see if they will put MOLLE on the back. They show it for camo but I dont really want camo seat covers. Be nice to organize a few things like first aid and and give kids a place to store stuff tidy like.

You have a link? or a company? Personally like something waterproof also. MOLLE would be badass. I don't have seat covers but I could be swayed with that set up.

More than 30 years ago my aunt bought her first new car. The next week she put the mexican seat covers on. About 15 years later she was hit and the car was totaled. When she went to get her stuff out she cut the string holding the seat covers on and pulled a cover. She was pissed. Original seats looked 100% new, junk yard probably got $200 a seat. Front that moment forward, no seat covers until factory seats have some wear.

2A
i will have to get on this locally. There is an online company that sells them and they are made near me in Aurora CO. That place only has the MOLLE as an option on camo seat covers. The shop I am going to order through is a local topper and truck accessory shop that can get custom stuff (per the owner) due to being a local dealer.
He hooked me up great on my topper after we shot the breeze about my old job as an ER nurse and my years as a firefighter. I just need to go by and order. I will post it up once I have it confirmed I can get the MOLLE. He said they would......

photo84690.jpgphoto84691.jpgphoto84692.jpg Okay,
the truck has been vacuumed wiped down and seat covers installed.
It's gonna get a much needed bath as soon as I get this post done.
Vacuuming and seat cover install took about 45 minutes.

Tadaaaa!

After
Clean install

Glad you like your new truck. I would love to have one also. But it looks like I will have to keep my 97 Dodge 12 V 5.9 its at 465,238. had to put a altenater on it this year. Had the front end done at 270,???. . It still get 17 to 19 mpg on the highway. That's all its ever had done sine new

Truck Nutz???

There are some Mezzicans living above the gun shop at the bottom of the hill below my Resort. (Is that an improper sentence?) One of them has a set on his pickup truck. I'll have to get a pic. But not before my seat covers come. I want'm to know I'm joining the struggle and a friendly.

I have said for almost 20 years. The 1995ish-2004 dodges and 1995-2003 Fords (Cummins and 7.3 respectively) will be the 1965-1970 mustangs and cameros of our time. The 2003 f350 7.3 that sold for 47,500 (about 5,000 more than original MSRP) on eBay 10 days ago proves it.

Do you have a link to that truck? I'm a 12V guy my self, but I do like the 7.3's.

Post a picture of it. I’m curious to see what a pickup looks like with close to a half million miles on it.

million mile club is bigger than you think. Most I have ever seen personally on original engine was 826,000. (7.3 powerstroke) But here is one that was famous due to A: how fast he did it and B: Toyota is very good at marketing (the fact a Toyota towed the space shuttle still pisses me off).

Certainly wasn’t doubting it, was just curious what the rest of it looked like after being on the road all those years. Here, the bodies are junk by then after multiple winters of the DOT spraying rust fluid on the roads.

Oh i did not post that to be an ass. Here in UT where in the summer it gets to 100 quite often and humidty around 15% things dry out and vehicles look okay after 20+ years. But I have seen vehicles from high humidty areas where everything is always "wet". Damn rust everywhere.

My brother went to college out of state, when he got back his car had rust in places I had never seen before.

And with all the bitching about Ford going to aluminium bodies that is one thing 1J04 will never have to worry about.

Vehicles i see with around 300,000 are in descent shape, the truck with 826,00 was in rough shape. Original engine, but was on his 7th transmission (there is a reason my truck doesn't have that trans).
