a few of my friends are true power lifters (natural and steroids, im not on anything..was always scared,they bust my chops all the time) and some of their wives/gf's are also in very good shape, some natural and some not. a few girls are power lifters as well.

over the 20 years i have been around people like this in the gym i have only seen 5 maybe 10 women that i though would be able to drag a 200 pound man with 50 pounds of gear on out of a fire fight if wounded.

they just aren't strong enough. a REALLY strong girl can squat 225 for a few. thats what a kid on a high school football team does.

look at the girls that compete on TV doing Crossfit, most of those girls are taking PED's (i know a few, they really dont test at the lower levels which is why crossfit is starting to lose popularity, regular poeple just cant compete). they are at the top of the food chain strength and training wise and a properly PT'd 25 year old man will give them a run for their money.

i believe just on strength alone, they should not be on the front lines.

for the guys that were in afghanistan humping 80-100lb packs up those fucking mountains...how many of you guys know a girl that could keep up.

it slows and weakens the whole.

Nice thought, but history doesn't bear it out.

What I did like was one of Heinlien's story ideas, where to declare war or start any "actions" they had to do a public vote where everyone had to vote with their names.

If the vote passes, those who voted yes, were immediately called up to serve, followed by those who didn't choose yes or no & then lastly those who voted no.

the thing is.....the majority of the jobs in the military are non-combat rolls.

sanitation, cooks, supply, intelligence processing, maintenance, ect......you dont have to be able to bench press 400 lbs to push a pencil around....yet those are still jobs that need to be done and play an important role.

like everything else exemptions can be made for mothers with children

An ex-girlfriend of mine (high school) is a power lifter. She benches over 300. I think she squats like 375. Glad she's an ex that I can still talk to in a friendly fashion. Watch some of her videos and decide for yourself if she could have kept up. Google Cara Westin.

On edit, her knees were an issue in high school so she probably couldn't do the ruck. Who knows?
