I am not at all up to speed on what all is available and what kind of pricing I should spend for each different gun. I do know I would like to have a piston driven and not a gas impingement system. Can some of you guys tell me some good options for $2500 or less??

If you are dead set on a piston rifle, POF and Ruger 7.62 are about your only choices in your price range and the POF rifles start around $2500. The FN SCAR is just outside your price range but may be what you are looking for.
If I were you, I'd give up on the piston thing and just get a accurate rifle from GA Precision, LMT, or even build one.

Depends on How Much Money you're willing to spend. Just about any .308 SemiAuto on the market these days is capable of "a few hundred yards" accuracy. I'd suggest you wait a bit and let the Reviews flow in for the New DPMS GII line and the Rock River Arms new .308s as well.
If you have all the money to blow then the usual suspects are Armalite, GAP-10, Larue OBR, KAC SR-25, LMT, POF USA, PWS, and I believe Seekins is also coming out with a Badass .308 as well. and let's not forget the much talked about Odd ball out of the FNH SCAR 17 Heavy as well.

Ignore this guy. I have a GAP-10 DI gun and the POF and PWS piston weapons and of those two the PWS is a far better platform.

You read my post wrong. I never said or implied piston guns weren't accurate. Just that their are other accurate options that aren't piston driven.
Funny, to me it seems you've misread the OP in that it clearly states that he wants a piston gun, not a debate about the merits of DI vs. Piston.

I have run the holy hell out of several P-308s over the years and still have a 20" model with several thousand rounds downrange and it is still a solid 3/4MOA with my reloads (and only slightly more than that with factory match fodder). In my experience, the guns are utterly reliable and are a great bang for the buck if you are dead set on a piston-operated large-frame AR rifle. They can also be had for the top-end of your budget range (starting at ~$2400).
I haven't had much time behind the PWS offerings, but I will say that the ones I have shot were very capable and seemingly reliable rifles, but I believe that from my experience with the POF over the years, the PWS offerings aren't necessarily worth the additional money they'll likely cost you versus the POF (~$400 more give or take).
As for the Ruger...they haven't really been out long enough yet to get any meaningful long-term testing, but based on price alone, they are an attractive option to many. That said...if it performs anything like its little brother from Ruger (the SR556) ...the accuracy will be...well...not great.
The reports I have seen were shot with a mix of various ammo which tested out at an average of about 1.5MOA with Hornady TAP shooting best at just over MOA for a 5rnd group. I haven't had the opportunity yet to get one in hand personally, but I hope to do so sometime this year for T&E purposes. Time will tell whether they are worth the ~$1600 street price or if they are just more white noise in a sea of really viable options. Again...depending on what you are ultimately after with the rifle and whether the available reports on the SR762 thus far seem to meet/exceed those goals or fall short is up to you, but in and of itself...it isn't a BAD option for a plinker capable of ~1.5MOA accuracy out of the box.

I've been seeing POF P308's as low as $2100 lately. Hard to beat for a piston gun in that price range. The feel and balance of the 14.5" and 16" are really nice. Slam on a Nightforce 2.5-10x42 and have an excellent do-everything rifle.
I've got a POF on the shelf I would like to move. I'll give you a killer deal on a package.
Thanks for your input but I do not believe I was debating the merits of piston vs gas.....at all. I simply gave options and my opinion based on the OP's situation. You took my comment out of context and derailed this thread. If you want to continue, send me a PM as this is not helping the OP get a rifle.

+1 for the PWS and POF It's not much more expensive and pretty all the Gun/Options you'd Want/Need in a Piston Precision AR .308. Any downsides would be the lack of off the shelf replacement parts, and Weight Factory of Piston System on top of already heavy .308 AR Platforms but then again, it also means Less Recoil and faster follow ups.
Another thing you want to look at is weight. Some AR-10's may as well be crew served weapons. That's one of many reasons I ultimately went with a JP (after owning several others). They ain't cheap but they're awesome. The LRP-07 handles more like an AR-15 than an AR-10.

How much did you pay for your JP mdmorrow and also padom your price on the POF?? What gen is your POF??
handled a new CMC with key mod fore end at my LGS the other day looked like a real nice rifle for the money $1,400 I think had a good trigger and real nice looking.
Built Mine on a Mega matched billet upper lower with Krieger barrel cut to M110 specs. Jewel trigger, BAD safety, turned out great and its a Hammer.
