Thinking about buying a KAC SR-15 or some other AR.

I like all the features of the KAC SR-15 and am ok with the price. I want something light, maneuverable, 16" barrel, reliable, accurate, that I don't have to treat like a princess all the time. Just to blast some rounds out to 400 or so.

I do not want to build my own, no time for that.

Any other AR's I should look at, and why?

Thank's guys.

They are worth it. I had a SR15 E3 which is now the "Legacy" model, and recently got the Mod1 and couldn't be happier with it. The only things that I have done to it are swap the trigger to a Geiselle SD3GS and put a SF muzzle brake on there, very soft shooting and accurate to boot

SR15's are awesome. Light weight and well balanced. My mom and I split the cost and bought one for my dad this past Christmas. I'm glad he doesn't mind sharing.

The only other AR's that could compare would the Colt, BCM and DD light weight barrel offerings and the Larue PredAR.

I would get the Mod 1 and NOT wait for the LPR, the LPR has a 18" stainless barrel. If you are wanting a blaster gun, get the Mod 1 and rock on.

I really have been enjoying mine! I have had it a few weeks now and have put 560 rounds through it. The gun is indeed light and very very soft shooting. It is set up very well from the factory. I personally went the "Mod 1 SBR Carbine" route by buying the lower and upper separately, and having the upper shipped to Chad Dixon to pin on a Surefire brake to bring the length up over 16". I really liked the look of the 14.5" and really wanted the dimpled barrel, though looking back the 16" is a much better value. Here are a few pics:

I'm waiting on the LPR also. I already have a 14.5" rig with a pinned Blackout so the 18" LPR just makes sense to me.

I had an SR15 Match before and loved it, one of those rifles you kick yourself for selling after the fact......

I love my SR15E3, it is very light. It will suprise you in how kight it is. Also with 77 sierra's and 24.0 of H4895, this last weekend it put 5 into just under an inch at 100. Its always impressed and does shoot very smoothly as well.

I have been very happy with my SR15. I am glad that KAC is now offering multiple configurations for this model. IMO you would be happy with either version.

Re: Thinking of buy a KAC SR-15 or what??

I have had Noveske, LMT, DD, and several others. I recently bought a MOD 1 and am realy pleased with it. There are a lot of built in features with a KAC that are not standard on others. It is the softest shooting rifles that I have. I was making 300yrd shots with it the other day with an ACOG and it was surprisingly easy. You wont be disapointed

And the reasoning for this? Similarly equipped Noveskes are 2400ish and JPs are close to the same?
