What did you learn in that program that you didn't already know? I have been looking into programs and most I have talked to say that's not much more than a piece of paper.. What are your thoughts? I am interested in finding the best program, that I will actually get something out of.

I currently work here as the head sales rep while apprenticing as a gunsmith.

In reality the course is pretty much to get yourself a diploma to display as this course is online only. Here in Canada there aren't many "Gunsmiths" around. Here many people call themselves gunsmiths and screw up more guns than they fix. Here at the shop we try to show that we are actual professionals and not someone who learned in a Garage. My boss has been gunsmithing for 10 years. The man who trained him was a gunsmith for 50 years.

This course was fairly involved although it was more about the US side of gun laws (we don't have a course of our own here yet). They sent you some really nice manuals which you can just order from Amazon that shows how to repair various makes and models of firearms and talks about custom work on guns.

It was worth it in my opinion for the fundamentals. Here we are trying to get an official course that you would physically go to school for started. That is still at least a year off. Those that have diplomas from accredited gunsmithing courses and have experience working in the field will get grandfathered into the new system once it's completed.
