thread subscription/following?

Is there a limit on threads that can be followed, or do they "age out"?

I ask, because some threads I have tagged to watch, or ones I have posted within, never pop on my alerts after awhile.

Any reason behind this?

You stop receiving notifications for watched threads that you haven't been back to for a while (sort of like a soft unfollow if you don't show recent interest by visiting the thread).

This is discussed often on the XenForo (site software) boards.
