I would say if you want to walk about that's up to you, I may go to Pos 2 but no farther. Come on out and blow the dust out of those barrels.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Hmm, I may come down and play. I'm more or less out of 308 ammo, but if my thread adapter comes in I'll be playing with my 22 can.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Im really hoping to make it, need to put the new Razor HD through a real test. Im all loaded and ready, just need to make sure nothing comes up. Hopefully we could at least shoot from position 1 and 2 after some bench work?

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Just got new camera.
High def vids.
Bring a big chip.(8+)

Annual January shoot when?

New shooters must understnd that we may only shoot a station or two.

I was one of the last shooters, several years ago.

Dress for cold.
Best time you ever had.

Thank-you Tom.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Wish I could but 1. I dont have any ammo loaded, and 2. My dad is coming to visit that day so I'll be spending the afternoon with him.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Ace,

I am currently working the 2011 schedule. We have a lot to do in the upcoming shooting season, the tough part is I'm trying to work around other matches and shooting events held else where. I should have something together around the first of the year for a start.
As of now this Monday and Tuesday we are shooting/training and having a meeting to discuss January and February which will be our slowest months. March will blow wide open with lots of shoots and comps and training to choose from.
Our new website will be up and running early January and it will be updated as we progress.
Our next shoot (winter) will be in January. This date will be set this Monday.

Thanks and we hope to see you soon!

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Tom, we spoke last year. I'm sure that the NC crew will be making it your way in 2011. We've only heard good things about TVP. I look forward to meeting you at Mommoth next month. Take care, Sean

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

what time should i plan on getting there on monday? and is there any cost to shoot?

edit: i just mounted up a new scope, ill be able to sight it in on the 100 yd right?

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

this was my first time down there, so i can only say for me it was great. going from only shooting at my local range out to 200yds, to breaking a couple clays at 600 was a huge treat for me. the wind was a bit rough, but thats what makes it fun.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Nice Day at TVP as always.....Wind was (as always) there to test your skill.( 9 moa at 1000) But all in all got to shot some steel to see what my load was doing in the cold. Meet a couple TVP Virgins that I'm sure we will see more of in the future.
Thanks Tom
See you in a few weeks
Wayde

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

9moa on a 260? What were the 308's dialing for wind?

Wanted to make it, but its a heck of a drive for me to just throw that expensive lead downrange. Also ended up selling my small gunsafe to upgrade and had to go pick it up today and get it installed.

Ill make it down again sooner or later I hope!

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

had a blast. love shooting in the cold.

i was holding almost 4 full mils left at 1000 today with a .308. needless to say not a whole lota hits out there, but a few.

the nagant surprised me. banged the steel at the 600 more than a few times, and damn close to the 700. i wish i had better eyes so i could actually see the targets!

cant wait for january shoot..

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Been having some interesting discussions about 3-gun events lately. Seems to be lots of interest out there. This we will discuss further. I love shooting my G17L suppressed out to 200 yards and the AR suppressed is a serious grin getter. Shotguns are always one of the best weapons close up but most folks have never trained with one. Shotgun-carbine-handgun-rifle course better known as the Gauntlet run-n-gun course will be open to our civilian shooters. Just part of the new courses TVP will provide shooters in the 2011 season.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

it was cold, it was windy, but it was worth it. I am hoping for a warm windless day for january, and by warm i mean 30 degrees. i have already started prepping brass.

3 gun is the biggest rush I've ever gotten out of any gun game. There is plenty of interest out there as there have been about 40 shooters at the last couple of Multigun matches in Circleville.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Chickeneye,

Yeah, talk about wind..I had 3 mils left at 600 yards, but I was shooting 55gr bullets out of the suppressed LMT Defender 2000 16" carbine..I was giggling as the bullets danced around the plate.
I had a lot of fun today to spite my head cold. Thanks for coming out. Looked like your father had a good time too from all the grins he had! Bring him back to shoot the short course with that ol'bolt gun.

I was roughly 2-2.5 mils at 1000 with a 175 sierra throughout the day. The wind at 600 and in wasn't really bad at all.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Tom,
Sounds like fun.
I need to work on my shotgun skills!
Would we need slugs or shot?

Here are some pics from one of my first shoots there.

Everytime is fun.
Where else can you do it?

Can't wait to meet the newbies and see Friends.

That one goes back a couple years.

First shooter I met, was getting gas.
Thought was dumb to go bird hunting.
We met at Tom's.
Yes I'm ready.(kind of)

Dog's and Yotes are fun, but think it might be a little "big" down there.

The A-Team may suffer on those runs.
give us yotes, they have the dogs.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

We have a great group of guys and the group is getting bigger and better. Yes,we had to weed out some turds but hey, so did the All Mighty and at some point it just has to be done. We have no clicks or BS and EVERYONE helps anyone and all who need it with absolutely no hestitaion. I'm proud to have such a good group of responsable and just plain good people helping to represent TVP and it's purpose.
TVP in 2011 will rock the precision shooting world and most of you will be here to enjoy it as well as many others coming out of the wood work. Others and myself behind the scenes are working hard to make it all happen.
That photo that was taken in the winter scene is awesome.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words..how would you describe it? These are some of the stories we will tell our grandkids and of course some we wont..lol.
All I know is there is always something funny going on and the giggle factor is always present, all the while doing things people only dream of. We are blessed.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

It was my first time up there as well. I remember not wanting to be in the pic cuz I SUCKED that day. (and still do I believe) That day changed my life as I had never shot past 300yds until then. Tom has got me hooked on something that I will always be thankful for. My Ohio years were the best yet.
