Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3-10

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

Yeah no problem. Flounder has one too, since he has a crush on me or something and goes out and buys everything I have! (Youll see what I mean on Sunday)

I work at Gander and we have them clearanced for $299 if you want one.

Such a dick... hahah.

I think it just works out that you and I are the bargin shoppers trying to get the best bang for our buck which means some of the same stuff. I shot yesterday and completely forgot to put on the new stock pack. Dammit..

Come-on Aaron tell everyone what else you did yesterday! HAHA

Firemarshall. Im going to look tomorrow and make sure we have one new in a box so you dont get the display model. If we do, you definitely want me to grab it? I have no idea why they are clearanced, Id guess we just arent going to carry that model anymore because as far as I know Bush still makes them.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

Will do Firemarshall, Ill let you know what I find out tomorrow.

What do you guys think of this for the position 1 marker? 15x20" mounted to a post, feel free to comment on changes.

What pics can I take to help?

</div></div>

Get me a pic from stations 2,3,4 that you can see all the targets and Ill be good

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

It looks good, but I would really suggest that it doesn't stay outside long. The red dye will quickly fade if not covered and protected from the sun. I think that laminated copies with a ring holding them together would do well. The new guys could pass it around easily.

Regarding range finders, I have a bushnell Elite 1500 as well. It has been fair for me. I have had a hard time getting good readings past 800 yards consistently even off a tripod with fresh batteries. It isn't a limiting factor, becuase shooting a 308 I really shouldn't be shooting soft targets (hogs for the most part) due to the lack of knock down power at that range. If I had a magnum, I would also start saving up for a vectronix range finder ($2k-3k). They are serious and are rated to 3,000m and 6000m depending on the model. If you really want to stretch out and connect with those really long targets then you have to know the range. When I step up to the magnum arena, I'll be budgeting for a rangefinder to match. For now the Bushnell does well for me.

I'm working on a score sheet and looking for ideas.

That is Breeze's pic, I got the original from him. Just changed it, added The Intimidator

Nothing like starting off in positiion 1 with the easy ones.....

That'll get your confidence up then move on to the harder ones.

I'll be a spectator I think this weekend, just mounted the scope and no settings at all other than 225 but should be good to go by next month.

Look forward to watching and learning.

Jon

Just a thought...When you print the picture watch for the green and black on the numbers becoming blurred, could be a little hard to read for some.

Ill watch for that. But those letters will be quite large, Im printing it on 15x20" photo paper so Im hoping it should be ok. My sister, a color engineer for Kodak, will be printing it so Ill have her take a look before she prints it.

Glen, that score sheet looks good, does that whole spreadsheet fit on one sheet of paper? Im not sure how the time bonus scoring works so I dont know what to tell you whether Id change anything or not.

I agree, suppressed should definitely be on teams...I for one dont want to be taking my muffs on and off between shots. Flounder and I will probably team up.

Does anyone shoot suppressed with an MOA scope that could team up with Josh? Oh wait, Scott shoots suppressed and Im pretty sure his S&B is MOA/MOA also.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

I will be shooting my suppressed .260 or my .338 Lapua. Not sure which yet...maybe the Hulk. I'll decide the night before. But all will be suppressed.

Glen, if your remember can you put collection of TVP pictures from 2009 season on a CD for me?

Still looking for someone to maintain TVP website. Could work out shooting fees for this etc?

Also new shirt ideas and someone to do them. Same logo? Or improved?

Tom

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

Tom, sent you PM about website.

I think the same logos, I love that logo. Maybe different color scheme or something, light OD green shirt maybe.

Did you get a .338 can or is it 30 cal Tom?

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

FM,

I may have a PLRF 10 and 15 at the match as well as the "Mosquito" NV by Vectronix. Save for one of these...then sell whatever you get for "now".

"If you can't fight at night...your a loser."
One of our new logos....

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

That's great! Life hands you lemons, make lemonade. I'm sure we will lose a few shooters because of weather...that's ok...I wouldn't blame them. To all who show up....make sure to wear enough warm clothing and something to cover up your face. Not sure of wind chill.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

I'll be there wearing my customised "Meat-Jacket" to stay warm. Only took me 15 years after getting out of the ARMY, with too many pizza's, and a few beers, to build it to this level of insulation. Sure works great in the winter, but sucks in the summer.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

Jon,
It's still a rough draft.
No it doesn't fit on one page.
Size is 8.5x11.
I'll print some off for this weekend so we can all see.
We can give it a shot.
Also working on station range cards for log books.
(check your mail, I don't know how to post file)

.308, MOA and can.
I know of another shooter that may need a partner.

Sounds like a busy weekend.
Spotters please remember to call corection, not where it hit.
Only way to learn, is to do.

Have another new shooter, depends on plowing.

Always room for shooters!

Re: Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) Steel Shoot 1-3

Come on out.....

We'll make room...I'm sure not everyone will show that planned to. We will make it work regardless fo how many show up. If we have to, we will shoot four shooters at a time...two-two man teams.
Everyone needs to be here by 9:00 a.m. to register and if you need to zero you need to be here by 8:30 a.m.

Thanks,
Tom
