Does anybody have experince using the 30P-1 with a .300WM? I am considering it for my .308 and .300WM. I know it is rated for the 300WM but I am a little worried that it might be pushing the limits. I might consider just going with an AAC titan or 338P-1 to be sure it can handle the 300 WM. Any info or recommendations would be helpful.

I am hoping I should have mine sometime this month. Paperwork was send off last Aug. Can went pending Sep 4. I am planning on running it on my 7wsm, 223, 300wm, 20 tac, 243AI, I would have no worries about running it on a 300 WM. I have seen the 30p-1 being made. They will handle things no problem. That is why they are welded up.

There's a local dealer that I've heard stocks this can. I'm planning on picking one up myself. Unfortunately.... it's gonna be a loooong time before I can give any thoughts on it. I wouldn't give it a second thought to shoot it w/ 300wm. There's not gonna be any problems. They would not give it that rating if it was not 100% safe. The pressure is should not be an issue when using it with the correct caliber. Heating it up from rapid fire is what can ruin a can. Shouldn't be of much concern in "Bolt Gun" world.

What is your dealer saying?

We've shot a lot of .300WM through the 30P-1 and 30BA. It is very effective. One of our initial platforms was an AI-AWM in .300WM.

Reading the OP, I got the impression he was asking about suppression performance, not safety/durability (which is no issue). .300WM is getting to the limit of great suppression with the 30P-1, but definitely within its effective range. For .30 cal magnums larger than .300WM, ie more than 80 grains of powder, the 338P-1/338BA is a better choice.

Gamhuntr- No worries on the winmag, I've been running my 30p for a long time now in .308, 7wsm, and .300WM same with my buddy banks74... You'll love this suppressor! Plus, you'll have great CS with TBAC for any questions you may have. BUY ONE

Zak,

By better choice, are you saying that my loads approaching 80 grains in 300WM would have better suppression? Recoil management would be similar or better? I'm a casual shooter and I'm trying to justify the 30P-1 over the 338P-1. I don't mind spending the money if it will give me noticeable gains.

Re: Thunderbeast 30P-1 with .300WM

I believe he is rv7pilot due to the shear amount of gas needing more volume to expand in. The a smaller can only has some much room for expansion...I have a 338BA going through the transfer process right now and have no experience with other TBAC cans but my 300WM and older .30cal AWC thundertrap compliment each other very well even at higher loadings. The suppressors are different of course but I think the volume is in the same ball park

The right application for .300 Win Mag is the 30P-1 or 30BA. When you start shooting cartridges that have over 80 grains of powder, the 338P-1/BA becomes a better choice. The .300WM is still solidly in what the 30P-1/BA can suppress effectively.

If you do intend to shoot the RUMs or the .338's in addition to .300WM, the 338P-1/BA would be the better choice.
