Mine was just fine and has had no issues.
I think what I would try, and I am not a guru like many on this site, is to take the barreled action out of the stock, check for any issues such as plastic burs and the such and when I put the barreled action back in the stock I would use some business cards underneath the barrel so its free floated and centered. After I torqued the stock back down, I'd remove the business cards and see if it is now correct and stays.
I am also one, even though I know its a pain, that is quick to send a rifle back if something isn't right or easily fixed.
