I am up in the mountains of CO out of phone service, so I can't call NF for help. Can someone tell me how to get the elevation turret cap to seat the last 1/4" or so after zeroing the scope and setting the zero stop on a NF NXS 8x32 MOA scope? I have other NXS' and ATACR's and this has been a constant source of frustration for me. They act like there is an air lock, slowly bouncing back up after downward pressure is applied. I have backed one of the set crews back out (in the past) to negate any trapped air, but all this results in is an occasional lost set screw. Many times I will finally get it to slide down to about the 5th revolution mark and that is as far as it will go (as in one of the 2 I sighted in yesterday). I surely must be ignorant of some simple technique that everyone else knows. Help please!

Because of the tight fit, sometimes the dials can be hard to seat on the turret. Make sure they're straight, and it will go further down.

The air that gets caught under the o-ring is a bugger. The only way to overcome it is with more force, or to remove the screws as you mentioned.

If you don't have signal, how are you posting?

Maybe satellite internet as well?

We have internet service but no phone service up here. I was down in the valley yesterday and when I had a signal, talked to NF customer service. They are sending me a new turret to try. Yes, I could have emailed NF but thought asking on SH would be quicker, since I wanted to shoot that particular rifle. Lesson learned.

Unless those new turrets have been redesigned with some way for the air to escape (another words if they are the exact same turrets) it's going to be like pissing in the corner of a round room isn't it? I have always just pushed down hard until I got the first set screw a little tight.

I finally got it to seat by lubing again with bolt grease and rocking the turret back and forth with my thumbs using a lot of pressure. I have had this issue before and just set the rifle aside and periodically keep retrying until it finally seats. This one just seemed like it was never going to do that. Thanks!
