Hello all,

I bought a used TL3 action from the PX a few months ago, and it has intermittent ejection problems. It will occasionally just drop the brass on top of the magazine, and I have to grab it out or flip the rifle to clear it. Luckily it isn't frequent, but it is annoying when it happens in a match. It also does not eject brass very far, and it usually just dribbles out the side no matter how fast I work the action. I have shot with several other guys in competitions that have TL3s, and their actions always seem to chuck brass. Is there something I can do to fix this, or do I just need a new ejector or extractor?

Probably the extractor not hanging on to the case well enough during ejection. It’s easy to take the ejector out though. Pull the barreled action out of the stock and unscrew the ejector pin. The ejector will fall right out.

Take the ejector out to check function of the extractor or just replace the ejector?

The guys at Zermatt are first class and customer orientated without any doubt. I've caused many an eye roll I'm sure with my dumbshit questions but they've always been professional and concerned with a happy outcome. No, this isn't a review for a chinese massage parlour....

Do you know how many rounds are on the action?
I bought it as a barreled action with 2500 rounds on the barrel, but I am not sure if that was the first barrel. The bolt has a decent amount of wear on the coating, and I broke the firing pin while dry firing a couple weeks ago. I have put about 700 rounds through it so far

I had an Origin that would do that (mine wouldn’t eject out of the box) and Zermatt sent me a new extractor and problem was solved. They are very responsive and will work with you to make sure your problem is fixed.

It’s probably an extractor issue, I had something similar happen last year after beating a stuck case out of chamber. I emailed Ray with my issue, he sent out a new extractor and I was back to the races.

Like others have mentioned, it's most likely related to a weak extractor. Shoot us a message or an email with the size of the bolt head and what ejection side it is with your shipping address and we'll get a new one heading your way.

Thanks - Ray

Thanks Ray! I will send you guys an email

Unfortunately, my TL3 has been doing the same thing. Brand new action purchased a few months back. Majority of round just kind of fall out (even if I run the bolt hard), while some just fall on top of the mag. Ejector seems to be fine and in correct position. Ray and team were awesome and sent out a new extractor for me. Rifle still won’t eject brass well at all though.

Any other thoughts? I really like the action but the poor ejection is definitely a bummer.

What size and ejection port extractor is it? If that didn't fix it, we'll take a look at all of them we've got on hand to make sure they're good to go and work with you to sort it out.

Thanks - Ray
