First, I hope nothing happens and everyone reading this has contacted their representatives to ensure our rights are not infringed upon. Now that the precursor is out of the way, on to my question.
If you could buy AR lowers at Nov. 2012 prices, is it smarter to buy them now or wait and see what happens in the future?
Me and a family member have been discussing the issue and I'm just curious what other hide members thoughts are on the subject. Keep in mind we're not talking about purchasing numerous lowers, just a single lower for a custom build.
My thoughts are that if you want one, and can get it at a decent price, get it now. For less than 150$, why take the chance that you could be left out or have to pay inflated prices? There is no guarantee that the supply of lowers will catch up with demand before any legislation may or may not pass.
The family member feels that it is better to wait because parts are scarce right now and he feels that a ban will not be passed.
I get that there may be some deals out there if a ban isn't passed, but is saving a potential 35$ in the future worth possibly having to pay 400$ or more for it if a ban is put in place? I've never taken an economics class, but it seems like a no brainer to me. I think he's potentially making a big mistake, but he's set in his thought process.
