TOP 4 states in the US for precision rifle shooting

Give me your lists and reasons. Honorable mentions welcome also.
I'm thinking Wyoming, Utah, Kansas and Arizona?

Lots of open space and fairly gun friendly law wise (which is big because other states share the similar landscape but completely drive out all of the shooting ranges)

Lower population density allows for more space to shoot except maybe Arizona?
Weather is also a big one, if its constantly 25 mph wind and pounding snow thats gonna put a dent in shooting time. Same goes for brutal heat (although it can obviously be weathered)

let me know what I'm missing.

Montana is full, try Wyoming...

You're looking for Arizona.
I regularly shoot in sub-zero temps because I'm not waiting months to shoot again. Western Montana is being taken over by yuppies and there are too many trees. Hard to find a good long range. Eastern Montana may as well be Wyoming. Barren high desert, brutal winters and hot summers. My BIL uses 7000 acres to raise 250 head of cattle. Lots of time the fire danger is too high to shoot on their ranch. We have closed our range down many times for fire danger and had to have fire trucks to hold a match.

Utah...the places that you can shoot past 1k...100° plus 6 months of the year and wind blows 50% the time in excess of 25 mph.

Wyoming... -15° half the year...wind blows in excess of 25mph 75% of the time

Don’t come to AZ unless you want to either shoot exclusively at shooting ranges for 6+ months out of the year, or buy your own land. Public land is essentially shut down from May-October due to excessive heat/fire danger. Also we’re full of Californians who think it’s cool to go blast TV’s and burn couches in the desert. Safest bet in AZ is to buy your own land outside city limits (a feet in and of itself). Then you can shoot in peace all year.

Israel has really, really strict gun laws. 99% of the firearms you see are issued and not owned. Makes Mass look like a 2A paradise...

I remember those days as well. Even then, it was disappointing to see garbage left in the desert, but that was nothing compared to how it is now.

Somehow in my more than a dozen trips there I have never had a problem getting any of our firearms into and out of the country.

On official business or having fun? Passing through as a business traveler or actually living and working there?

Having a Col in the IDF state you have a need is a pretty slam dunk way of getting a permit when you live there. You are still trapped by the 50 round limit. It's been that way forever, since the mid 70's at least. You can probably guess why I know that....
