Torque range for Rem. 700

I think I read on here somewhere that the action in an HS Precision PSS stock should be torqued to 61 in. lbs. I can't seem to find that thread again. Is that correct or a little high?

No. Factory specs for factory stock and bottom metal is between 45 and 50 inch pounds.

Some get away with 65 inch pounds but with factory bottom metal you are in danger of splitting it at the action screw hole.

45 to 65 inch pounds is standard, depending on the beding.
