The reload manuals cal for a 2.714" trim length....I know you want to be accurate and consistent, but how long can you let the case get before the need to trim? I shoot a Savage 110BA, and have great fun shooting to 1,500 yards, but I have been trimming to the 2.714 specs....Can I get away with trimming less, say if I keep the brass at 2.724 or 2.734? If it fits isn't it OK to use as long as you stay with it? I don't really hate trimming, I just want to be the most accurate, and save my brass! Thanks gents!

Scroll up about 6 subjects in the reloading forum & read about brass case prep. It may answer your question. Also get some Wilson gages for your different handload calibers. If it fits, no need to trim.

I start trimming bac at 2.730. And then I only go back to 2.724.
Have been shooting accurately, so I don't see that as a problem yet.
