Rifle Scopes TT, Tangent Theta Optics?

I am looking forward to more competition in the marketplace. Not sure why TT prices are targeted so heavily as being out of line. Schmidt-Bender, Zeiss/Hensoldt have scopes priced much higher with much shorter warranties, but somehow these companies get a free pass in the price argument. Sure 4000 is considerable for a scope, but pick-up trucks should not cost $55,000....yet here we are. The dollar is worthless. Just my humble opinion.

Hensoldt/Carl Zeiss and Schmidt/Bender has been around a lot longer than 18 months..

S&B 5-25 is €2500 here, the Premier 5-25 was €2800, the "new" TT is €3800. Tell me why it's €1300 better than the Schmidt? It's all fine and dandy that TT wants to compare itself to the new gen of S&B and Hensoldt, but they are offering 10yr old tech (5x mag) with the same optics as the old scope. Any changes are purely cosmetic. I'm certainly not condoning the new insane pricing for the S&B and Hensoldt (why the fuck is an 8x erector tube €1000 more than a 5x), but TT is following that price hike without offering anything in return.

I have a PH 3-15 and dont have any problems with it, but I am curious about the new clicks that seem to be such an improvement. Are they more positive, tactile? More options is always a better thing for us end users, but I do not see the logic in these scopes. Its going to be hard to compete with the optic houses that move production and design to the US to keep costs down and quality up. The air is thin at the $4k scope level.

THAT's nice to hear. They were supposed to be shipping in the late spring. Its now August 15 and I've heard nothing from the dealer I ordered one from back in March.
If this is who I think it is, I think I may be able to help.

We have contacted or tried to contact all of our customers with TT pre-orders at 3-6 week intervals since SHOT show. There are a number of people on the list that I have been unable to contact again, despite leaving messages and emails for them at the contacts we have on file. If you are who I think you are, and your first name starts with a B and last name with an L... please call me at your earliest convenience and I'll give you the update I called everyone with on the 14th of this month. :) My file says we've called 4 times and left messages, and have emailed twice. We try to contact everyone at regular intervals, but clearly there are some people that either have not been getting our messages, or simply do not wish to carry their orders through. I'm fine with either... but I for SURE don't want any customers hanging out there that are upset or in a state of uncertainty. There's no need for either, as we're available anytime!

I also want to make this point clear; You can not call me too much. I'm always available and happy to talk about whatever gun-related thing you're calling me about. If you have a pre-order in with us, and haven't heard from me, then that means I've been unsuccessful in contacting you at least 4 different times. So please, give me a ring if you'd like to talk Tangent Theta or anything else I can help you with.

Quick update: I had a conference call with TT and ATI monday morning. We are really close to release of these scopes. There are some final small considerations to cover, but they are confident we are talking about sooner rather than later. TT is resolute and completely committed to providing the best rifle scopes available, and will NOT send a single scope out until they are certain their standards have been met. No customers will be used for beta testing as happened with the Premier scopes early on. We've verified our SKU's and expect a shipment of scopes soon. Those on pre-order will be taken care of first, but we should have a few scopes in various configurations left over after.

For anyone else that has a pre-order with us; If I haven't talked to you in the last week, give me a call when you can to verify we have you on the list for the right scope, and your updated shipping and payment details.

I was just chatting with Andrew Webber. He told me that they should start hitting store shelves soon, but I did not get a definitive timeline. I still run a Premier on my rifle. I am excited to see the Tangent Theta scopes. Hopefully we will have them on our shelves soon.

if SWFA has no inventory then it sure looks like they would charge your credit card up front and if so that is BS
We will have the first available TT's for sale, and we have several scopes from our initial order that are not spoken for. Anyone that would like to secure one can give me a call. We will take your information and put you in line. When the scopes arrive, you can have a choice of us immediately running your card and shipping the scope, or contacting you one final time before doing so. Either way, you won't be billed until the scopes arrive here and are ready to ship.

In the interest of FULL DISCLOSURE, don't you think it would be wise to INFORM potential buyers that they are not in stock and are in fact placing a PRE ORDER. Just sayin...
