My life changed when I bought a lefty Remmie 700 223 VS. I am left eye dominate but always shot right handed rifles. A new world opened to me. So, I sold some rifles and built up some money for the left handed tactical builds. The whole down side for these builds are I am within a couple of weeks of deployment to Iraq (yes, we are still there) so these builds will not be able to get played with until my return August 2011.

I chose two builders from the Hide for the builds: Mike Bush of Underground Skunkworks and Mark Gordon of Short Action Customs. Both gentlemen are great to work with and very user friendly. There are lots of builders here on the Hide but it just worked out that I chose these two from numbers of great builders.

Both rifles have suppressors waiting for them upon their return: Gemtech HVT and AAC M4/2000. Both QD's are with the builds so the builders can ensure they are correct from the beginning.

Here are the specs for the builds:
Underground Skunkworks INFIDEL Precision Rifle: 308 Caliber
Action: Left Hand Underground Skunkworks Model 911
    Underground Skunkworks 20MOA Rail
Stock: Accuracy International Chassis System 2.0 (Left Hand)
Barrel: Bartlein Tight Bore RECON Contour, 5R, 10 Twist
    20” Finished Length
    Threaded 5/8-24 with Cap
    Trigger: Timney
    Finish: Graphite Black Cerakote (Flattened)

    Second One: Short Action Custom
Started life as a Left Remmie 223 VS
    Fully true action/bolt
    Bartlein: M24 Contour - 1:8 Twist - thread - 1/2 x 28
    20” Finished Length
    Tactical Bolt knob
    Manners MCS-T2 in Urban Camo
    MCS-DBM MINI CHASSIS
Mr. Kampfield will be doing the flutes in the barrel and bolt

These little lefty's will be the core of my tactical rifles for years to come. I still have right handed rifles for my two sons (both in the Army) - a GAP M40A3 and an AWC M40A2...they are already fighting over who gets what rifle.

Where in Iraq are you? I'm currently there as well.

Running convoy security out of Speicher to JBB and Warrior.

I am going to Camp Victory, Al Faw Palace...been there two times before so they might as well give me the same work place.

    JSTARSZ,

I got an idea. Could you ask the builders to post how your builds are going here?

If they could you would be able to see it, and we will also.

I think it would be cool to see how the rifles are built.

    Just an idea.

The Infidel build is almost done just awaiting the AICS chassis...but I did mention it to Mark Gordon and said if he would like to show pics on the Hide that is fine by me since I will look at it from afar anyways.

I always love when the builders show their work on the Hide as they work their magic on the rifles. I think it also gives the gunsmiths great publicity/advertising to show it on here. In fact, it was the rifles built by the two builders that were shown on the Hide that motivated to me to use their services in the first place.

Well, the Underground Skunkworks build totally changed course when I got close to my deployment time. Mike was going to be really close with the build due to AICS left handed stock issues so I changed it to what I really wanted which was a Perseus. I talked to Mike last week, March 30th and it is about a month out from completion with a Manners T4(A) stock. I will be back in town in early June 11 and will be waiting to get this to the range. Man, I am getting psyched.
