Unless you are really clueless, I doubt you would be dumb enough to stand on the press handle and try to crush the die like a soda can.

And when you start caming over when the sub plate, shell holder and die are touching your will then see the COAL changes. Nothing can come in contact with the shellholder or at least not with any force involved.
To OP, re-read what I stated above about removing material from the bottom of the die, it's really not enough material to cause any issues...you could even call Hornady yourself to hear it from the horses mouth.
