I feel that Ruger's double action revolvers are under-appreciated.
which ones specifically ? I know that the CZ P-01, SP-01s and it’s Shadow Variants and the P10c, P-07/09 are definitely not under appreciated or under valued.
M&Ps yes! They are some really good ones coming out at dirt cheap prices relatively.
Under appreciated I shouldn’t have said in CZ’s. It you can get the polymer guns for dirt cheap it seems. That says under appreciated to me.

I think the Ruger SR9 is under rated/appreciated. I loved mine, and it was actually the first pistol I used in a competition. Completely stock, I did very well with it too. They can be found for less than $400 at times and are a great value IMO.
I think that with the explosion of the internet at our fingertips 24/7, the number of widely under appreciated firearms has dropped. Over the past few years, the collectability of older handguns has skyrocketed, and I'm extremely glad that I got a lot of mine before this happened.
Excellent shooters for the money are CZ 75s, my dad's SP-01 Tactical is a stinking hammer, but I very much dislike the trigger break.
I also think that the LTT Berettas are excellent for what you pay for.

This may or may not fit your idea on the question but I find the old S&W K frame rimfires a great value. In 1972 I paid 125 for an early K22. It was clean and super slick like they all were in the 40's and 50's. I literally wore it out. No finish, and it shaved lead so badly that it was unsafe to shoot.
I then purchased a 4" version made in the '60's. It was unfired and had a comparably rough action. I slicked it up and also shot and carried it to the same condition. I then moved to Colt Woodsman's. They seem to work forever but I am outdoors less than in my youth.
Fast forward to today. I became nostalgic for the old Smith's. I bought two, both unfired in the gold boxes. '40's-1950 guns. I paid 1500 for the pair. One 6" and one 4". Both are in perfect condition and better than either of mine from the 70's. To me that was far less than the 125 I paid when working as a kid at odd jobs.
No way that much quality should sell for 750 per copy. Someone spent a lot of hours in the pre 1950 era fitting and finishing those guns to perfection. To build to that quality today would cost 3-5K.

Being a huge fan of the P&R (and older) Smiths, to include a 1952 K22, I can attest that the amount of effort put into older guns is often overlooked.
It is actually on the other end of the spectrum
. Very very highly valued and recognized.
Beretta 92 and M9. Most of my friends who were in the military do nothing but cus about the Beretta until they fire mine which hasn't had its guts replaced and been used more then the cute girl in town with loose morals.
And the little Beretta 22lr and 25 cal pistols. Easy to conceal, and useful as hell if that is all you can cary.

^^ This! The internet has bought information to the masses and resulted in the skyrocketing of even barley collectible pieces. I wish I was born in your era and could learn to be in the company of and appreciate the quality firearms. Unfortunately, enthusiasts per se were few and far. Most people just walked into a store and bought for a specific purpose or home defense or whatever. There weren’t that many restrictions back then.

if anything ever fits in this, it’s dan wesson revolvers. they were far ahead of their time. so many features....such a great design.
Walther P38 Historical gun that can still be obtained rather easy and not overly expensive in most cases.

Agreed. But the ones who have the P7s already know about them and price them heavily. It’s a hard find to get a bargain on those.
Dan Wesson revolvers are under valued. I believe they should be a lot higher than they are. Especially considering how accurate they generally are.
Please clarify which m&p. Myself and many guys at my local range had nothing but problems with the original m&p’s and they had the worst trigger ever. It was kinda like a bad milspec ar trigger that you buried in sand for a few years. Now, the newer m&p shields seem to run great.

I bought a CZ 75SA for $350 lightly used. Everyone is so infatuated with DA/SA variants they get forgotten about and go cheap. The best part is that they dont need $150 trigger kits to be great.

I know that the .35 Remington isn't a unicorn in the North East, but here in the Midwest where 30-30s are ubiquitous plenty of people have never even heard of it.
The short Marlin .35 Rem lever gun I have is fucking deadly in the woods at under 100 yds. It hits them like a freight train. You would think they were hit by a .300WM the way they go down.

I totally agree. They are well made and look good as well. I had a 15-2 that I bought new in 1980 and like a dumb ass sold later. I picked up a .44mag few years back and love that thing. I am looking for a .357 to replace the one I sold. They are hard to come by at any reasonable price.
I was in a local pawn shop and didn't have the money but they had a cased 357 with three barrel lengths for I believe $500. They had a single 6" 357 for $300. Both were in good shape, used but not abused.
I would have bought both! I lucked into the 44 . Someone got it in a trade and wasn't a wheel gun man. I picked it up for $285. I could get the money yo him fast enough. Where were the .357,'s if you don't mine me asking.?
I have the most beautifully blued Colt 1903 pocket hammerless. It was my great-grandfather’s CCW when he was an engineer on the SP. My grand father, then father had it wrapped in muslin, in the sock drawer, from about 1948 till 2014 when it became mine.

It was 3-4 years ago at Shylock’s pawn in Tazewell, TN. It is a small backwoods town and that shop has had more rare guns than any other shop I have ever been in. They had a NIB XP100 in 221 Fireball for $650. Saiga shotguns for $350. Had a S&W 41 for $850 that was like new.
Anytime I end up in Tazewell it is a must stop shop. Hundreds of guns.

CZ 75D PCR.
Great little pistol, compact and accurate. All the CZ pistols I've ever fired have been crazy accurate. Not to mention their rifles, excellent.
