Is anybody using a NF Unimount or an AADMount on a bolt rifle? From what I have been reading here and elsewhere, the mount(s) should allow you to remove the mount from the base and put it back and hold zero. Is this others experience? I really like the built in 20 MOA. It would go well with my flat bases. I would like to be able to move a scope from rifle to rifle. I have thought about the height issue. The rifles I would use the mount on have adjustable stocks (B&C and Mcree) So I don't think that would be an issue. I hope to acquire a semi 308 in the future and thought about the possibility of rolling glass between the three as well by establishing zero for each. Is this pratical or even plausible? Thanks in advance for any advice or constructive critism.

Re: Unimount on Bolt Rifle?

Bushnell Elite 4200 24X50 with Armalite (so I was told, no markings but decent looking) rings on one rifle. 6500 30X50 with Bushnell XTR high rings on the other. I have been looking to upgrade glass and rings. If I invest 2K+ in a scope and roll it between two or three rifles, that would be great. I can't swing 2 or 3 scopes with out selling body parts!

Holding zero will be close when going back on the same rifle but may not be perfect. You should always reconfirm your zero after scope fiddling.
From rifle to rifle, it will be a complete crap shoot. Count yourself lucky to stay on paper at 100. Of course, if the scope tracks and you use your reticle for measuring impacts, you should be back on target in a couple of shots and dead nuts within 10.
