    Hider's,

Yesterday I got an e-mail from UPS (United Parcel Service) stating the following:
    <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">Dear customer!

Unfortunately we were not able to deliver postal package sent on the 9th of December in time because the addressee's address is wrong.

Please print out the invoice copy attached and collect the package at our office.

    United Parcel Service of America.</span></span>

Although I had mailed packages in that early December timeframe via UPS, none were reported missing by the receivers.

I did not open the attached invoice, instead I called UPS today. They confirmed that these e-mails are the new scam of the day, and the "invoice" attachment contains a computer virus.

So a heads up to all,

    Bob

Have seen it many times in the past few weeks.
    UPS, USPS, Fed-X, etc.

Any decent AV software catches it before it does any harm.

Yea, LOL, I've gotten pretty good at spotting them. Usually when they come through to the BB, I look right at the sender. Something like that means VIRUS/SCAM!

    Re: UPS Scam Alert

I always reply to e-mails with my passwords in them, and bank acct #'s. PIN #'s, etc. I pretty much believe any e-mail I get.

Oh hang on, it appears the sum of $1,200,000 (on million TWO hundred thousand US dollars) is waiting for me in Nigeria. Talk to you guys next week.

    Re: UPS Scam Alert

Funny thing, shortly after reading this thread, I got something in my spam folder from "UPS" about a failed package delivery. Went right to the trash. Thanks for the heads up.

    Re: UPS Scam Alert

I got the UPS one earlier today, my software detected the virus before I opened it and then I immediatly deleted it. i'm glad to see i'm not the only one to recieve this e-mail because I too shipped packages around the time the virus states, made me wonder for a second there...

Likewise, mine was channeled to a virus folder where I deleted it.
