THIS is why we don't like muzzle brakes. Even with double ears the pressure made you want to be somewhere else. There is a concrete wall in front of me reflecting the blast right back.

Sorry for the grainy picture, but the room was DARK. I also cropped it tight because I don't want to show the details of the construction.

Re: Urban Hide

Thanks for the heads up - I'll try to remember to remove my muzzle brake whenever I need to fire from inside a building with concrete/cinder-block walls!

Re: Urban Hide

Reading this thread reminds me of shooting from other confined spaces, and yes muzzle brakes wouldn't be fun at all in those spots. That room looks similarly constructed to some buildings we train in.

Re: Urban Hide

Urban Hide Construction is a sensitive issue with me. While there are lots of skills that crossover between professional snipers and recreational shooters Urban Hides are NOT one of them.

The shooting position is not a big deal. That's why I posted the picture. The methods for concealing the position to the outside world are.

I know what you mean about breaks and being in tight to sound-reflective surfaces. It can be painful. My hearing definitely isn't what it used to be.
