Re: Using a 338 can for 308
I have the 338 SAS QD Ti. It shrinks the groups on my 338, leaves the groups the same on the 308, and spreads em a bit on my 6.5 CM. I also use/like it on my 300AAC. The lockup is good and tight, but its left for tight. Don't screw up like I did and go right for tight....no bueno.
My bro in law has the TOMB in 30 cal. With both using the 308 they sound the same. However, the muzzle break on the TOMB is MUCH better. That thing can tame some recoil. His 10 year old shoots his 7 WSM with out a flinch, and my dad was so impressed that we took the old brake off of his 300 Weatherby and stuck a SAS TOMB even though he has no interest in sound suppression.
If I were to do it over again, I would go TOMB just because of how good the muzzle break is.
