Is there anything to not like about this scope:
TPAL

I'm not a fan of NF, had a bad CS xp with them and I'm looking for a solid optic to mate with a TRG22. The reticle I want with a S&B isn't readily available from Eurooptic, while the USO is. (also I really like the reticle in the link I provided). If I knew what the release date was on the new S&B 3x20 was I would wait, but I'm not able or willing to wait indefinitely.

Re: USO TPAL

Can't go wrong with a USO. Customer service is excellent and the EREK knob is simply bad ass especially for shooting long range.

Re: USO TPAL

body, not a sunshade. it's even longer with the ARD

i run the same scope except i have the MPR mil reticle instead of GAP and have the 35mm tube instead of 30. it's a great scope

Re: USO TPAL

The only thing that I would change and its purely cosmetic is change the windage knob to the M40, I just like the look better.
Other than that I think it would be the perfect scope.
I have an SN3 3.2-17 and absolutely love it other than being an MOA my next scope will be a mil it seems to be the standard now.

I see no reason not to buy this scope!

Re: USO TPAL

I have the scope that you linked to, escept mine has the Gen2 XR reticle instead of the Mil GAP reticle, though that was my choice prior to finding out I could be a Gen 2 XR in it. I like mine. It has been flawless. I had USO build mine directly and they were a pleasure to deal with.

Re: USO TPAL

Thanks for all the feedback. I've yet to hear anything negative regarding USO products or their CS. Somehow I keep getting the feeling that I'll regret not getting a S&B....

Re: USO TPAL

The only complaint would be limited one-piece mounting options due to the size of the turret housing, but otherwise I have 2 of them if that's any indication of how much I like them.

This was an issue I ran into also. The larue spr-e I wanted to use on my lmt mws doesn't accomodate the longer erector housing. ADM has a mount that works fine. I don't need a cantilevered mount because the mws is a mrp design. With a base and rings it's not an issue.

Really just a lot easier to reach without disturbing your shooting position from my experience. Its not an advantage really if you're always shooting predetermined distances but if engaging targets at multiple distances it makes things easier.

Re: USO TPAL

I have both and slightly prefer the ERGO adjustment. One less lens, and its more forgiving than my T-Pal.

For example when shooting 300-700 yards last match set it at 300 and didn't touch it. My TPal needs a little adjustment with that much distance cahnge, but hte ERGO is usually set to 200 or whateber the closest steel is at and then forgotten about during a match.

I love my USO's and they are some of the coolest folks you'll ever meet.

Good to know. I have a 10x being built right now for my M1A and went with the ERGO

The Aadmount works with the TPAL as well. I had a heck of a time finding a 1-piece I liked until I stumbled across it.

My opinion is this, take it for what it is worth. I had the opportunity to use a higher power S&B PMII right before my USO came in the mail. The clarity was awesome, and it is better than the only USO I've had to compare it to, my own. Not by a whole lot, but noticeable. However S&B didn't have everything in a scope I wanted, plus I wanted to support a US company. After some range time with my new SN3, my decision stands, no regrets on the purchase. My SN3 is a pretty wonderful optic and I'm mighty proud of it. The fact they are really great people to work with and their kick ass customer support is just icing on the cake.

I own both and they are both worthy of your hard earned $$$$. Find the one that suits your needs and don't look back.

DWood,

Which ADM mount is this? I have the same exact scope on order and will be mounted on the same rifle. How is the quality of the ADM?

Thanks,

Re: USO TPAL

I'm in the market for another optic myself. Compared my SN-3 with a S&B 5-25 x 56 today. Really like the S&B. It is a little brighter but it's a 56mm objective. A better comparison would be the USO 44mm and the S&B 42mm I think. That being said I'm going to order another USO. The glass is still awesome and there are a few things I personally prefer. I like the elevation clicks better on the USO. A little stiff for me on the three S&Bs I looked at. I prefer the USO reticle options and there is no better turret than the EREK that I've had the privledge of handling. Also nice to get the scope to your specifications. Either way you'll be tickled pink, but I wouldn't trade my USO for any other optic. That's just me though.

Re: USO TPAL

I didn't quite like the clicks on the EREK and windage knobs on my USO (a bit light), so I talked to John III about it here, and took it to their shop a couple mornings ago. They sat me down in the shop with Justin the knob install guru/genuinely nice guy/ex-Army and he tweaked the knobs for me for an hour until I was satisfied with what I got and didn't charge me a cent. Almost all the big wigs at USO, including John himself came by several times and made sure I was completely satisfied with what I got before they let me go, oh and they centered the reticle for me also...

This was the first time I used their services to adjust something on my USO, other times I went to pick up scopes or just shoot the breeze with Arnold or Jeff (or say hi to Becky). But experiences like this is exactly the reason why I went with USO...

To the OP, you won't be disappointed. If you find that you would rather change the windage to a M40 knob, shoot John a message here, or just give them a call... Maybe they can help you out...
