USPS money orders

When you cash them it's a done deal. Cash in hand then ship, I don't see how you could get screwed.
Most banks mine included will only cash a check or money order if you have a account with them. So you cash a bad check guess where the bank gets the money from. Yep that’s correct your account. So there is always some risk but it’s definitely better than PayPal.

If you are buyer, keep your purchase receipt until the MO is deposited by the seller in case you need to file a claim. If you are seller, don't ship your goods until MO is deposited and cleared. Most banks clear them immediately since they are basically cash, YMMV. Abusing them and misusing them is criminal and a big no-no, that's why they offer better protections IMO than PayPal and other modern methods I dislike.

The PO will cash them. Once they hand you cash it's done deal.

They could have been stoles from a post office now your a part of a money laundering scam / that involves sex workers and a sweat shop in Bangkok and while you serve serving a 6-10 year sentence for your crimes , Your new roommate in jail who likes to hold you late at night while you whimper your self to sleep lol its all in jest till it happens sweet dreams .

That depends on how much cash the PO has at once. and also subject to how much they let you cash into cash in one go.
This. The first time I tried to cash MO’s I was at the main post office of a city with 1.2 million people. They didn’t have funds on hand to cash them and the super-helpful manager basically told me to fuck off. I may have let her know that women don’t typically have mustaches, but regardless they didn’t cash em. Try going later in the day as they may have more $$$ available.

Is there a way to be scammed accepting these for payment ? Thanks
Yes, there is, I'd never accept a MO for payment. The way it works is, you "cash" the counterfeit MO the bank puts the money in your account then about 6 weeks later when they find out it's counterfeit your bank takes your money out of your account to cover their loss.

Do you accept checks and credit cards?

I’ve taken USPS MO to the post office to verify validity. I also have called banks to ensure check # is valid. Before cashing.
The counterfeit MO's I was given looked exactly like the real deal, I bought a real MO to compare and couldn't tell a difference even using a loupe. I wouldn't trust a USPS employee.

He is obviously talking out his ass. Even back in the 90’s banks never needed more than 2 weeks to tell if a check or mo was good. Pp however have stolen and locked many accounts just for mention of gun.
MO's go through a different system than checks do. I don't give a shit what you do, I'm just relaying my experience with almost being scammed out of $3000.

As a seller, that sounds more risky than postal mo, check or cc. JMHO.
I quit taking credit card payments after one time I sent a gun to an FFL and the buyer backed out and disputed the charge. The money was refunded to the buyer and I didn’t have the gun back. The FFL eventually returned the gun after threat of ATF trace. Not doing that again. No seller protection with disputed charges in my case.

I'm comfortable with PayPal, I've been on both sides of transactions gone wrong and they eventually got to the right decision. There's really no foolproof way to accept payment even with CC's you've got to worry about chargebacks if you get too many of those you can have your account terminated.

You can go to the USPS website, and they have a system for verification of a money order. I have used it, pretty easy. I"ll accept a money order over a check or Paypal any day.

Verify the Money Order
It's good practice to give the money order a once over before trying to cash it. First, the United States Post Office (USPS) only issues domestic money orders in amounts up to $1,000 and international money orders of no more than $700. Second, if you hold the money order up to the light, you should see the following: a watermark of Benjamin Franklin that is printed on the left side multiple times from the top to the bottom, a dark line running from top to bottom with the word “USPS” listed over and over and dollar amounts that are not discolored in any way. If, after examining the money order, you still aren't sure of its authenticity, you can call the U.S. Postal Service Money Order Verification System at 866-459-7822.

The post office will verify them on the spot. Mine never has enough to cash them though. I take my item to the post office to ship. They verify the money orders and I ship out. Simple.

Wrong and Wrong. Usps mo max value is $1000.00 you can purchase as many as you want. If you get well into 4 figures, you may have to fill out a form. ( to help avoid money laundering)
Any usps can verify on the spot and cash or issue new mo on the spot.
They can verify but most can not cash them. Maybe the large ones in the city can.

Another option is just use PayPal.
Money is in your account instantly..
there is some security, though mostly protecting buyer.
I’ve made countless transactions and never had a problem. Just insure whatever you’re shipping in case it’s damaged or lost (and require signature, so you know they got it).
I understand some people are worried about online transactions but it’s very safe. If it wasn’t ebay wouldn’t be what it is today.
Personally I’d be worried about a buyer wanting to pay any other way.

I won’t buy from anyone that only takes PayPal. FYI eBay was around before PayPal and got smaller when they went to PayPal only

This right here! I bought $2500 worth of money orders at one time and there was an online form on their computer that the clerk filled out with all my personal information required before they would issue the money orders. Last time I did that! Would buy a $1K one in the morning and another $1K in the afternoon .

PayPal and Ebay can fuck right off . Do you have any idea how they support 2A ?

I have bought 2-3 money orders at one time with no issue. Never had to do anything differently. You would think it would be the same everywhere.

Must have noticed the dried jizz in your beard. Dead giveaway.

if you are worried about counterfeits, and the post office branch doesn't have the funds to cash it on the spot, tell the clerk that you want to use the usps money order you received in the mail to buy a new money order for the same amount. It will cost you about a buck. then just take it to the bank. you know it's 100% good because it was just issued to you from the source.
