I wish VA all the luck in the world.
I'm of the opinion the opposition knows that at the core of the 2nd folks they believe in
the law and as these folks obviously aren't concerned with the law they've already won.
This has been the reality for a majority of these 2nd fights.
The SCOTUS has been missing in action.
They already know this.
If this can't deliver a successful recall petition nothing will...

Im assuming money changed hands to cause the turn around posted in the article above my post.

No. Previous board voted it in b4 their term ended 2019.
This bitch was elected and didnt start her term until 2020, and she stated in December, she was going to reverse the sanctuary vote when she took over.
Was in the news, NYT and those clap drips printed it, crowing about the peoples voice would be enforced...
And, that's her claim to fame.

Go hit it, take one for the team... and ?

1. ACTION ITEM: Prince William Countytrying to pull a fast one on a sanctuary repeal vote on Tuesday, January 7In order to sneak by a vote to repeal Prince William County's sanctuary status and to back the Governor's gun-control agenda, the new Board of Supervisors has moved the vote from 7 pm to 2 pm on Tuesday, January 7!

Have no doubt, they don't want a crowd there when they do that treachery.

Let's NOT let them get away with it. If they are going to do something that cowardly and despicable, then let them do it in front of a thousand of their constituents!

2. ACTION ITEM: Highland Countyto vote on sanctuary resolution on Wednesday, January 8!Turnout needed!

Finally, Highland County is going to take a vote on becoming a 2A Sanctuary on Wednesday, January 8 at 6 pm. We need Highland County to complete the counties in the western part of the state.

Location:

Highland County High School
Myers Moon Rd, Monterey, VA 24465

Board of Supervisors members:

David Blanchard
John Moyers
Harry Sponaugle

You can email the entire board with one email: [email protected]

Member J. Hill sent me this:

This is a crucial meeting. Highland is one of the last vestiges in Virginia that could turn green. We need a lot of people to show up.

This will be the Board's first meeting for 2 of our newly elected officials. The other (3rd) official got re-elected. His name is David Blanchard, nice fellow and typically quiet politically, but recently has given us reason to believe he’ll vote against it. Nobody can read the other two board members, Harry Sponaugle and John Moyers, Jr., both from McDowel.

Before making your way West out over Shenandoah Mtn., 1) fill up on gas and eat something, since the two town restaurants/gas stations will be closed before we finish. 2) If coming in from out of Highland, please allow the school gymnasium to be filled with Highland residents only. There should be plenty of room for out-of-towners in the school hallways and/or classrooms to stand.

This will be an organized event where several Highland citizens are scheduled to present up to a 2 minute presentation before the night is up and the new board members either vote or table it.

3. Reminder: Virginia Beachto vote on sanctuary resolution on Monday, January 6!Virginia Beach's Mayor has called a special session on January 6th at 6pm with one item on the agenda: a Second Amendment Constitutional Resolution (verbiage below).

Time: January 6th - Meeting starts at 6pm, but the room will fill much earlier, so get there as soon as you can to get a seat.

Location: Virginia Beach City Hall, the same location as the Dec 3rd meeting.
2401 Courthouse Dr.
Virginia Beach, VA 23456

Parking: There is plenty of public parking around the municipal complex on both Courthouse Drive and on the north side of George Mason Drive

Contact: If you want to speak, call the City Clerk at 757-385-4303

Carry: Carry is allowed, open or concealed, in VB City Hall. The courthouse is in a separate building. VBPD is always very thankful for our demeanor at these meetings. If you see an officer there, please take a moment to thank them for their dedication to the public and for their work.

Council will have a workshop at 4pm - prior to the formal meeting. Public comment is not taken at a workshop. Both of these meetings will be streamed at https://www.vbgov.com/media/Pages/default.aspx and televised. I would recommend everyone watch the workshop if possible to know each council member's thoughts. But remember as we discuss with the council and email them, just because they didn't sponsor the resolution, doesn't mean they don't support it. We need to ask, discuss, and convince, not attack.

Please email each council member expressing your support for this resolution at [email protected], that email address reaches all members of council.

Or if you want to send individual emails or call each member that contact info is here https://www.vbgov.com/government/departments/city-clerk/city-council/Pages/city-council-members.aspx

If you have already reached out to VB council once, please do so AGAIN between now and Sunday - Moms Demand Action has stepped up contacting council and we need our voice to be overwhelming.

Please don't think you can sit this one out. Staying home is what cost us so many elections this past November. We need an enormous presence to offset the anti's that are organizing. Time to turn out all the Patriots again. Clear your calendar.
Overflow viewing and seating will be in Building 19 across the street from City Hall, but amassing in front of City Hall worked out great last time, let's do it again!

All those who wish to address council will be heard. The City Clerk is working hard to finalize a plan to shuffle groups of speakers into and out of the building so we don't put City Hall at over capacity again. ;-)

4. ACTION ITEM: Clarke Countyto vote on sanctuary resolution on Monday, January 6!Let's make this happen!

Yep. Time is on anti-2A's side for a variety of reasons...

Do you know why these lawmakers are ignoring you?
Do you know why they think you will do absolutely nothing?

Because so far......they are absolutely correct. They have trampled our rights with impunity for decades, and have retired in old age from our legislatures. They have slept soundly, snug as a bug in their beds.

The reason they continue, is the fact that you and I are not a threat.

One thing for sure. We live in interesting times.

I think that their biggest lapse in judgement is that anti-gun Dems don't know their enemy.

The people I know in Va will have no issue defending themselves from tyranny.

They are mistaken if they see us as weak so called children who have 5 sec attention spans.

We have long memories and we hold a grudge!

I think that their biggest lapse in judgement is that anti-gun Dems don't know their enemy.

Yes they do.

They know that by-in-large 2A supporters are law-abiding working-class citizens. They know that many 2A'ers live paycheck to paycheck to support their families. They also know that 2A'ers are sensitive to being labeled and shy away from confrontation once the labels start to fly. They know that a significant number of 2A'ers are middle-aged people with children. They also know that they have time on their side and that staunch 2A'ers are a "dying-breed".

Please note: I am not saying I am not immune nor above anything I previously stated. If anything, the above is self-reflection and observation.

Knowing the above, they also know that fear and "loss of comfort" is their biggest weapon allowing them to push their agendas. By loss of comfort, I mean the ability of one to provide for their families...add the fear of something happening to their families...etc.

Not to mention the fear of losing what rights are left.

They know their "enemy" very well IYAM.

Being here in Va, I can tell you that tensions are absolutely high.

In fact I can not remember a time where I have actually seen this many outspoken and unapologetic gun owners.

I agree somewhat with what you said but when the axe hits the chopping block, look for Va to lead the way.

THEY DO NOT KNOW US...

They largely live in their little bubble where they think everyone is just like them for the most part.

We will soon see the resolve Virginia has, I don't think they have ever witnessed anything like this.
They should heed the warnings.

If they thought we would act as quote- unquote law abiding citizens when tyranny comes knocking, well think again.

Guns are flying off of Va shelves and I bet less than 1% will get registered if they pass that law...

No offense, but I liken this battle to be similar to Iran saying they are going to retaliate on the US! Iran in this case being the gun owners who are threatening the lawmakers (the US).

You see I really hope I’m wrong but the vast majority of people aren’t going to do anything other than what they have been, which I really applaud the efforts of everyone in VA, but the lawmakers clearly dont care and therefore those methods are not working. Everyone knows what has to be done but nobody wants to do it. You may have a handful of people willing but you got to have numbers, it’s the only way it works, lots of them.

The fact that you just said like only 1% of them will be registered or will comply or whatever really supports what I’m saying. So let’s suppose that 99% of them are kept, what are you going to do with them? They will just remain hidden in closets across VA. A tool that cannot be used is not a tool, it’s just a waste of space. Think about it, you won’t be able to use it to shoot, train, defend yourself or anything because if you are caught with it you will go to jail, lose your job, lose your way of supporting your family, etc. I can go on. Nobody wants to do that and most wont. There lies the issue and that’s why this needs to be met with force, in numbers and stomped out, now. Like for real, these guys needs to be taken out of office through a recall or whatever, now. Otherwise, you have already lost and they won’t be giving any of your rights back.

I really hope I’m wrong here and I do really applaud everyone’s efforts but I just don’t see anything really coming from any of this other than some internet typing frustrations and the laws being passed. All this talk of fighting it out with them when they come to confiscate is nonsense. That’s not going to happen but if it did, you would lose, every time, standing alone. Again, that’s laughable for anyone that thinks that is a plan.

The biggest thing here is everyone needs to be on the same page and I am at least seeing a great response in regard to that in VA. I haven’t seen this kind of support of people working together for the 2A, well ever, in my lifetime. So, on that I really hope you guys are able to accomplish something through the regular channels but it appears the other side isnt going to play by the rules nor care. So, you guys need to think carefully about your next move. The ball is already in your court. Is this it, or will you really work together and put a strategy in place that will have real results?

Well, I hear you but here's why it will be different from how you see it.

First, let's say that law makers ignore all of the hundreds of thousands of us.

Very few will register them which means...

LEO will have to differentiate between legal and illegal guns, without probable cause there is no way to know the difference.

2A counties won't enforce the laws, much will not change at all.

So just like so many other states, it is unenforceable.

Many hundreds of thousands will vote them out like happened with the 94 Clinton gun ban.

Also, it will be challenged in the courts and likely struck down eventually.

That is one way, the other way will never be posted here or anywhere else.

We hope that day never comes but I wouldn't put my money on things not going south if they ignore all of us.

I also wonder how we can win, when there is also disagreement among gun owners on whether 2A protects accessories or not. I'm on the VA 2A Facebook groups monitoring all of this and the amount of douchebaggery even there among supposed supporters is mind numbing.

I know most of y'all hate Facebook and I do too, but that's the front lines nowadays....not here in the Hide echo chamber. I can't sit idly by anymore and allow some of the nonsense posted there, even in boards that are supposed to be pro-2A, to stand. It just drives me up a wall.

Have a guy actively arguing that accessories are not protected by 2A and he's ok with that....a fucking gun owner....in the VCDL group! What do you even say to that? To someone who's supposedly on our side? Not only are we fighting the Anti's, but ignoramus pro-2a people as well. It's tiring.

I've had people try to "change my mind" on gun ownership views many times in the past.
smiley_freak.gif

They always try to play the "think of the children" bleeding heart card and then get thoroughly surprised as fuck when I simply do not give a rat's ass.

THEM: "So you do not care about all of these schoolchildren that are gunned down by psycho shooters every year?"

ME: "Nope. My guns have not been used in any acts of unnecessary violence, and I do not care what others do".

THEM: "But you know that if we do not strengthen our laws more children will die, right?"

ME: "I am not going to be punished just because some asswipe somewhere did something that made the news. Besides, more children are killed by medical mistakes than by gun violence, so don't twist the facts. If you really want to save the children, fix the healthcare system first and then I might listen to what you and your ilk has to say..."

THEM: "So you really do not care?"

ME: "No I don't. I only care about my own safety and those of the people that I care about, and also other law abiding citizens in my vicinity".

THEM: " You are a cold hearted monster".

ME: "LOL yeah I know. I think I gotta take a shit now..."

THEM: "How do you live with your conscience like that every day?"

ME: "I'll tell you but I have to charge a fee. This is ''Murica. Capitalism"...

New bills pre-filed today.

From a VCDL Member:

HB 567 Indoor shooting ranges; prohibited in buildings not owned or leased by the Commonwealth. Indoor shooting ranges; prohibited in buildings not owned or leased by the Commonwealth or federal government; exceptions; civil penalty. Prohibits the operation of an indoor shooting range, defined in the bill, in any building not owned or leased by the Commonwealth or federal government unless (i) fewer than 50 employees work in the building or (ii) (a) at least 90 percent of the users of the indoor shooting range are law-enforcement officers or federal law-enforcement officers, (b) the indoor shooting range maintains a log of each user's name, phone number, address, and the law-enforcement agency where such user is employed, and (c) the indoor shooting range verifies each user's identity and address by requiring all users to present a government-issued photo-identification card. The bill provides that any person that violates the provisions of this section is subject to a civil penalty of not less than $1,000 nor more than $100,000 for the initial violation and $5,000 per day for each day of violation thereafter.

HB 568 Carrying or storing firearms in motor vehicles and vessels; exceptions; penalty. Carrying or storing firearms in motor vehicles and vessels; exceptions; penalty. Provides that any person possessing or storing a firearm in a motor vehicle or vessel shall secure such firearm in a locked container, other than a glove box, that is not within the dominion and control of or readily accessible for prompt and immediate use by any person within the motor vehicle. The bill provides exceptions for law-enforcement officers, licensed security guards, military personnel in the performance of their lawful duties, or any person having a valid concealed handgun permit. A violation is punishable by a civil penalty not to exceed $2,500. The bill also removes the current exception for carrying a concealed weapon for any person who may lawfully possess a firearm and is carrying a handgun while in a personal, private motor vehicle or vessel and such handgun is secured in a container or compartment in the vehicle or vessel.

HB 569 Out-of-state concealed handgun permits; reciprocity. Out-of-state concealed handgun permits; reciprocity. Reinstates the prior law providing that the holder of an out-of-state concealed handgun permit who is at least 21 years of age is authorized to carry a concealed handgun in Virginia if the other state (i) has a 24-hour-a-day means of verification of the validity of the permits issued in that state and (ii) has requirements and qualifications that are adequate to prevent possession of a permit by persons who would be denied a permit in Virginia. Under current law, the holder of an out-of-state concealed handgun permit who is at least 21 years of age is authorized to carry a concealed handgun in Virginia if (a) the other state has a means of verification of the validity of the permits issued in that state, accessible 24 hours a day, if available; (b) the person carries a government-issued photo identification and displays it upon demand of a law-enforcement officer; and (c) the person has not previously had a Virginia concealed handgun permit revoked. The bill states that the Attorney General shall (1) determine whether states meet the requirements and qualifications of the bill, (2) maintain a registry of such states, and (3) make the registry available to law-enforcement officers for investigative purposes. The bill further requires the Attorney General to review the determinations of whether states meet the requirements and qualifications of the bill and update the registry accordingly every two years. The bill removes the requirement for the Superintendent of State Police to enter into agreements for reciprocal recognition with other states that require an agreement to be in place before the state will recognize a Virginia concealed handgun permit as valid in the state and provides that the Attorney General may enter into agreements for reciprocal recognition with any state qualifying for recognition. The bill also reinstates the recognition of certain Maryland concealed handgun permits and eliminates the requirement that the Superintendent of State Police enter into agreements for reciprocal recognition of concealed handgun permits or licenses with other states where agreements were in existence on December 1, 2015.

HB 599 Carrying weapon into building owned or leased by the Commonwealth; penalty. Carrying weapon into building owned or leased by the Commonwealth; penalty. Makes it a Class 3 misdemeanor for a person to transport any (i) gun or other weapon designed or intended to propel a missile or projectile of any kind; (ii) frame, receiver, muffler, silencer, missile, projectile, or ammunition designed for use with a dangerous weapon; or (iii) other dangerous weapon into a building owned or leased by the Commonwealth or any agency thereof, where employees of the Commonwealth or agency thereof are regularly present for the purpose of performing their official duties. A third or subsequent violation is punishable as a misdemeanor, and such offender may be confined in jail not more than 30 days and fined not more than $500, either or both. The bill provides exceptions for law-enforcement officers, conservators of the peace, magistrates, court officers, judges, city or county treasurers, commissioners or deputy commissioners of the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission, authorized security personnel, and active military personnel while in the conduct of such individuals' official duties. The bill requires that notice of the provisions prohibiting the carrying of such weapons be posted at each public entrance to all buildings owned or leased by the Commonwealth or any agency thereof.

I really just wish all those that are now fired up in VA had been so 3 months ago. Those of us who worked to get out the vote were working against the environment, and we could have used all the people fired up now to stop this before it ever started....
Voting don’t work. Gov doesn’t listen. Politicians violating the constitution need to be hanging from a rope. Then maybe voting will work as it should.

The barrel of a gun is the only way things will ever change. It just depends on what generation is willing to ensure liberties for their children. Otherwise politicians will never change.

As it stands right now. We are giving our kids a national debt that we can't ever pay off. A justice system that is corrupt. Politicians that have no fear of anything other than themselves turning on one another. And lastly, our liberties that continue to erode away.

Hitler would be so proud of what the USA has become.

Reps are supposed to introduce pro-gun legislation but it will be DOA.
Wonder why they didn't do this back when they were the majority for 26 years?
They must've thought it would secure their power, well that didn't work pan out...

I'm sure they passed a few but if we still need more pro-gun legislation then they didn't do their jobs.

Every single country on Earth from day one of human civilization, if they needed to undergo a major change, had done it at the point of a spear, point of an arrow, point of a sword, or barrel of a gun. Whether for good or for worse, change has only been possible through overwhelming violence. Our contemporary 21st century republic which have been hijacked from within by hostile forces is no different. The determining factor for us is when and who fires the first shot. I prefer that it is NOT us, for the only reason that in the ensuing chaos, we will be able to raise a black flag and show no quarter to the insidious elements in our own system who wants us dead or in chains...

They already fired the first shot when they shot that guy in his own doorway that refused to give up his guns back in Jan 2019 under unconstitutional red flag bs

VCDL is a very "No Compromise" kind of organization, however, you have many points of view from people who join.

True. We can't even seem to get a fucking consensus on how we should look like when we attend Lobby Day. Some are saying to go there as if you would be going to jury service. Others are vowing to bring full kit and AR's/AK's with them. What the fuck are we really doing here?

I am not dictating how people should appear to the event but DO heed the VCDL's warning about media spotlight and the very real possibility of false flag action. Please. Please. PLEASE do NOT fuck up one of our biggest shows of unity and friendship to our fellow citizens all over the country, gun owner or not...

So if a "mole" starts a false flag who is he gonna shoot? A 2A guy? That doesn't fit the narrative. He would hafta shoot somebody of the opposing side (Ralph's side) So a false flag starter is gonna shoot one of his own?

EXACTLY this...

We cannot have Fort Sumters. Especially at our flagship event...

False flag...ugh.

IMO the risk is significantly higher from a "lone-wolf" type of no specific affiliation. Bent-on and a believer in anarchy and chaos.

Besides, would it matter whos "side" is targeted? The narrative would be the same...guns bad.

The unrelenting media would see to it.

The Vegas shooting targeting a majority white, likely majority Christian, majority "conservative", majority pro-life based concert, actually produced MORE gun laws.

We did vote. Your beef isn’t with us, it’s with the worthless Republican Party of Virginia who thought it would be a great idea to not put any Republicans on 40% of the ballets.

We need to be holding them accountable right now as well and make sure not one damn Democrat runs unopposed in the entire state in 2020 from Dog Catcher to Senators.

Democrats are evil. Politicians are bad republicans are still politicians. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I’m not saying don’t vote. I’m saying we were given the 2nd for when voting no longer works.

without probable cause there is no way to know the difference

You're missing the point. I'm not somebody that thinks LE will just tow the line on this. Having said that, if you think they're going to make the jump to confiscation on an armed door to door basis and still give a flyin fuck about probable cause you need your head examined.

The key is to finish this effort in a peaceful and lawful manner.

No half measures. No withdrawing.

See it through to the end.

Win.
You cannot remain both peaceful and lawful when unconstitutional laws are in the picture. We cannot keep fighting this battle over and over again. We are loosing more ground than we gain. We must attack the snake at the head not chase its tail.
