Re: Valdada QR-TS 3x25 30mm
I had one and got rid of it. I like the ACOG 4x scopes better. The IOR CQB was difficult to zero and didn't provide enough magnification for medium-long distance shooting (out to 400+ yards). I also didn't find the reticule to be very effective/useful. I had the scope mounted on an 18" SPR rifle (Krieger, SS, 1:7 twist) and I was shooting PPZ M855 62gr FMJ's. The BDC portion of the reticle was not even close to where my bullets were hitting. I thought that it might be the rifle (match grade barrel, faster, and length being factors), so I switched it to an M4 clone with a 16"barrel (Wilson, SS, 1 in 8 twist). Same 62gr ammo, but no luck on the BDC. I then switched out ammo and tried 60gr Vmax, 55gr M193, and even some 69gr SMK's. I'm not sure what platform or ammo IOR is using to determine the BDC on this optic, but it sure as hell wasn't based on anything that myself or the U.S. military is using.
I will say this about the IOR CQB, the glass was outstanding! Very clear, even though it didn't have as much magnification as I would have preferred. I did like the design of the reticule, especially the center portion where it gives you a nice circular aiming point when illuminated, and it was pretty bright even in daylight. It's quite a heavy scope, and it's built like a brick $hithouse.
