VARMINT/COYOTE GUNS, SHOW EM

IMG_2378.jpg

Factory offering. Bergara B14 HMR in 6.5CM. Loading Nosler 90gr Varmageddon over 42.0gr of Varget. Gives 3150fps and 1980 FT-LBS of energy. This one’s new. I’ve only done load development so far. Looking forward to trying it out.

Just a 223 wylde but she shoots great. The upper is a CLE build with seekins upper receiver, handguard, and muzzle break. A 7.7t criterion barrel.

I’ve yet to shoot a factory load that shoots over 1 Moa. I haven’t shot any m193 or m855 through it but any match loads I’ve shot through it all shoot at like .6-.8 Moa.

How do you like that IBI carbon barrel? Any POI shift when sitting longer strings? I’m planning on getting one for my next build but haven’t seen many people using them.

Don't have mine yet but just be aware wait times are pretty long right now. Ordered one for a hunting set up in August and still no word on when it'll ship.

Nailed a couple coyotes back to back a few weeks ago at 328 and 343yds with my 223:

I have a few ibi’s but only the 2 carbons. One rimfire and this one. I’ve had good luck with ibi’s in general. I don’t shoot long strings as it’s a hunting rig but during load development I didn’t experience any walking.

Is your Garmin messing with you, or do you have the worlds fastest 22-250?
that is more speed than I ever got with my 22-250 AI and 40 gr pills!
No it's real. They're actually factory rounds (Hornady 35 gr NTX) if you can believe that. I saw the box and thought they were full of crap. But Alas they really are that fast. 35gr, but still moving at Mach Jesus.

Man what I wouldn't give to have some open range like that. I might have to take a trip to some terrain like that one day, but I don't have any relatives or friends who live in such a place and hiring a guide just doesn't sit well with me for some reason.

I have run a Rem 700VLS in 22-250 for the last 25 years. It's pretty wooded where I hunt so building some fancy rig isn't worth the time and money. Mine has done just fine right out of the box for over two decades. And groundhogs? Boy Howdy!

Nice rifles BTW. Keeping it simple and effective. Love it!

It is pretty awesome for long range hunting and shooting. However Oregon still really sucks for the couple obvious reasons. Libtard ran state where all drugs are fully legal...I live on the east side, it's open rural farm country where that shit is not condoned at all. All that shit comes from the Portland/Salem/Eugene metro valley area where our votes dont count. I've lived here for 30 years and I'm about done with it myself. Long overdue to move to a red state.

My rifles are built around being versatile for both LR hunting and target shooting. I partake in a few local PRS 22 shoots and centerfire PRS/MOA/LR matches. I have 2 ranges, a 1K and 1400 that are 5 and 20 minutes from my house. It's where I spend most of my free time and hone my skills.

I currently live in Florida but am moving back to Kentucky at the end of the year.

I have a dedicated 7RM rig for LR stuff, don't shoot PRS. There's only one game in town within an hour and a half of me in Florida that goes out to a mile.

Fortunately, both of my States are still red. Florida though, is getting taken over mostly by NY with 1,000 people per day moving here (not all from NY but mostly). 1,000 a day to me is unsustainable and I'm bugging out. All the sugar cane and cattle farms are slowly getting gobbled up to put up these massive housing developments. It's very sad for me to see, but it is what it is.

So many questions…

Ok, start with the car. Wtf is happening here? Race car as grocery-getter or something? Why does it have a trunk?

No haha. That is my project 2002 ish cup/arca car. Behind the toolbox in the background is my pig that you can't see. If i left her food on the ground she would tear into it and make a mess so i put it in the trunk. But yes nascars do have trunks to access the fuel cell and some other parts.

Lapua case/40 vmax/29.1 gr h4895

That's a good reasonable load. You can watch the bullet hit with such low recoil.

I built a 20x47L with a 9 twist at 26" for 55's. I worked up a load at 3830 fps but not quite at 300 rounds these bullets were blowing up. So I tried 40 vmax at a 4100 fps and they worked fine. I didn't get a chance to shoot a yote with either load but with the 55's I blew a chuck off a rock at 412Y which helicoptered off with devastating power.
Shot PD's with the 40gr load and Wow.
