Very O/T. The family is kinda messed up today.
Our small home got two additional people two months back, our Daughter and our Grandson. Also arriving were four cats and an absolutely psychotic shrieking/yapping runt dog. None of this had been discussed in advance of arrival.
Soon after, it became apparent that one of the cats was pregnant, and the only possible male involved was her litter mate. Our Daughter has failed to have any of the four cats neutered.
Also in the home prior to this are two cats and a pair of Jack Russel/Chihuahua mix Terriers. The more recent overall tone in the house has been nervous coping, interspersed with much hissing, growling, and yapping. Stress is not a foreign concept.
Saturday the cat delivered three beautiful kittens. Yesterday, the male Chihuahua got into the our Daughter's room and slaughtered the three kittens.
When the tears had dried, I was delegated to bury the kittens. Not fun in any sense of the word.
Last evening, I had another heart episode, which involved some thumping sensations in the chest immediately followed by a loss of consciousness for about 30-60 seconds. The ambulance came and by then I was already back up and pretty stable. The tentative diagnosis was Syncope. My blood pressure went up to the 170-180's and two emergency doses of Hydralazine had zero effect. Waking BP was still the same as last night.
Today I am scheduled for an unrelated medical appointment at the Tuscon VA hospital about 80 miles away. Just took BP again and it's finally dropped below 160, which is the trigger point for taking Hydralazine. Normal is about 110-120 (medicated).
Once my scheduled appointment is finished, the VA will be shutting down for the day; and I'm probably going to have to go home without any opportunity to address the Syncope episode. So I'll end up having to do what I always do, wing it.
Right now my general outlook is far from enthusiastic. Last night's episode was straight outta the blue and very disturbing. I could probably do with some prayers, because last night, when things grayed out, I was about half certain it was curtains; I came out of it pissed off and thrashing while only partially aware of things for another minute or two. In the meantime, being able to share my experience actually seems to have been helpful. I really hope nobody here has such an experience.
