I'm finishing up a light hunting rifle based on an SR3, with a 26" Proof CF Sendero Light barrel in an AG Composites stock. As much as I like the quality of the Hellfire MB's that I have, I don't see the need to spend $150+ on a brake for this rifle when a lighter, cheaper option may suffice. I know they advertise "52% recoil reduction on 6.5CM", but am I losing anything with the VG6 other than the flexibility to mount a suppressor? I have no intention of carrying a 26" barreled rifle with my 9" TBAC on a hunt. Market price on the Gamma 65 is around $70, about half the Hellfire. Another plus is the smaller diameter of the Gamma 65 will probably match the Sendero Light contour better as well. The picture below is the Opposite of what I'm planning: VX6HD instead of XRS and MB instead of a can. Input is appreciated.
