Getting good results with H4350 in my 6.5x47, but man is it dirty (40.9 grains) I hear all the good things about VihtaVuori (N150 to be exact.) Anyone using it in place of H4350? How does it do? Is it as clean burning as they say? Good groups? Just looking for some input.

Re: VihtaVuori

N140 and N540 have replaced a number of powders for me for precision .223REM up to .308WIN. The only one that has been excessively dirty was N570 tested on .338LM loads.

I use 133, 140, 150, 165 and 170, with some 110 and N550 that I've yet to try.

VV makes some really nice powder, albeit at a premium in price and it being somewhat harder to find.

VV-150 will be fine and it's worth trying out a pound, or two, in your weapon.

Re: VihtaVuori

VV-133 is great powder but is very temp. sensitive. Don't know if that would apply to N150. Just a thought.

Was it temp sensitive?

Re: VihtaVuori

I've switched out all other powders for the VV line and run them in all my guns from 30-30 up to 338LM. (N140 amongst some others is actually subsidized by the government which knocks more than a 1/3 off the price :) ). The N140 and N150 burn pretty clean, N570 works wonders for the bore on my 338LM. However, I've had to stop using N570 with suppressor because of the graphite caking on muzzle and in the can.
