VA narrowly missed breaking the December 2012 (Obama gun control spike) number by like less than 200 sales.

Typical panic buying sure but lots of first time gun buyers/first time ar15 buyers as well.

This actually a great idea....the Counties that have enacted 2A Sanctuary resolutions have put the State on notice that they will not comply and that there are overwhelming numbers of people who will not comply. Keep fucking with it? We'll find a way to secede from Virginia and take our County to West Virginia.

I'd love to see this concept take hold in Illinois as well. Don't want US folks in many Counties that have declared hands off our 2A Rights? We'll secede and join with Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, or Kentucky leaving Cook County/Chicago as all that remains of Illinois. This is an angle/line of force I had not considered.

It's a great conversation starter but will never happen. In order for a county to cross over to another state, it has to be approved by the General Assembly, the very General Assembly causing all the issues.

I read one piece that said one county was offered and approved more than 100 years ago and they didn't join WV but there is no expiration date on the documents so they are free to go to this day with no additional approval needed from the General Assembly.

Not the final solution.
A possible path to getting an out of control Elite "government" to realize they can
and will be held to account.

As a proud Virginian, whose roots go back for many generations, I'd hate to give up on beating these idiots in our home state.

I get that it would boost West Virginia's conservative count in a dominating way, yet I'd rather become a new state like South Western Va...

Looks like a long shot anyway.

My last round of emails included the link to the story and video of the dipshit that proposed the bill saying that it depends how you hold the gun as to whether or not it's an assault weapon. I asked them if it would be asking too much to have bills crafted by people who actually knew anything about guns. I think they should all be forced to watch that jackass and then tell me that you can honestly, in good faith, stand behind that logic. Because if you can, then you aren't fit to serve either.

Also, Everyone who lives or doesn't live in Virginia should call Senator Lynwood Lewis, and at least let him know that we support his view on not banning firearms and commonly owned magazines.

We may not agree with him on everything but he talks to other democrats as well.

We have a political problem because politics doesn't work. It can be gamed and it has been. It's supposed to work on compromise, but the brainwashed don't listen.

The day will come when people will look back and recall that democracy always hit the wall once people found out they could vote themselves bread and circuses.

They never recovered.

Then they forgot, and just like Communism, kept on tying it over again, because the folks before just did it wrong.

Just like Tic-Tac-Toe, it's not about how you play the game; it's about whether to play it in the first place. The only winning move is not to play.

I'll be long dead before people get this one right.

Good luck to those who are still surviving long after me. If there are any of them.

House of Delegates passed 7 firearm bills today, some of which have also passed Senate, including:
- universal background check
- 1 handgun a month
- red flag

So these bills look like laws.

However, the terrible ones were not voted on. Northam, commenting on the possession law, said something like "we are still working on it and hope to get something out."

The Va Senate supposedly has at least 4 Dems that are not on board with the AWB and some others.

People are calling for Del. Chris Hurst to step down as well, because of his DUI where he only got a warning.

We have momentum on our side.

You know I’ve seen threads here on the hide and reports elsewhere of attacks on and defense of the second in states such as OK, KY, FL, GA, etc.

We really need to pull together as a community mutually defending each other. I know this thread is focused on VA and I’m a Virginian so obviously that has been my focus, but our enemies our numerous and their focus broad.

I firmly believe as evidenced by the sanctuary movement in VA that there are far more of us then them, the silent majority that simply needs to be awakened (this is happening) and mobilized.

The time has come for us to fight this together or has been said throughout this thread divided we will fall.

To those non-Virginians who have donated money to the VCDL, traveled to lobby day etc. I sincerely thank you. We Virginians must be ready and willing to do the same for other states.

We all need to get more involved in our local/state 2A orgs and get them to begin coordinating with groups from other states. Trump made bold claims the other day at his rally what is being done to push him to turn words into actions.

Our enemies are extremely organized it’s long past time we become so as well.

This is a great post.

I would also like to thank the Hide. This place has been a great source of news and morale building. I never was involved in any political stuff before, trusting that my rights would be upheld. This has changed now, as it has for hundreds of thousands of fellow Virginians. And with the Hide as a source of convenient and useful information for me - I don't have time to look at hundreds of different sites around web - I feel like I will not be ambushed again.

I think that graphic is related to the famous speeches of Mao's from the 1920s and 1930s in which he correctly advocated that political power could be taken and secured by the party that controls firearms. "Political power comes from the barrel of a gun" something like that is the famous quote. Of course, he would execute these theories in the horrible civil war after WW2 and the following 30+ years of his dictatorship. His gun control legacy continues to today, as Chinese civilians are forcibly denied any "political power" from the gun or otherwise. See the recent pictures of those college students armed with bows and arrows and sling shots as an example.

He led the communist Revolution from 1927-1949. Even though he didn’t assume power until 1949, many thousands of deaths totaling even in the hundreds of thousands were attributed to him during this time period.

While correct, it must be also noted that the only reason the tanks stopped is because they had orders not to run over the civilians.
Several days later in the middle of the night the military did roll in with orders saying shoot to kill and wiped out the entire protest communist style.
I'm pretty sure that guy was also rounded up as were most all of the supporters of the movement.

In the end when it comes to communists, you need weapons, lots of them.
