VLD's in a gas gun

So I'm looking to build another upper for my large frame AR and was looking for something unique. I'm wanting to setup a 6.5 bore to push a 140 grain VLD while still being loaded to magazine length. Thus I will need a short throated chamber and I need a little information on chambering. 6.5x47 seems like a really good choice but I'm not sure how the small rifle primer will work in a bolt designed for large rifle primers. My next choice would be the 6.5 Creedmoore but brass availability concerns me. Also with the chamber while I can purchase a set of reamers specifically for this I'd rather find someone who already has a set and cut the chamber as I want it. Any suggestions here?

Re: VLD's in a gas gun

I went with a 260 barrel on my MATEN build. I use inexpensive and plentiful winchester 7mm 08 brass necked down with zero problems. The 308 based case has a little more taper to it which "should" help in feeding and reliability of the auto-loading rifle.
