Rifle Scopes Vortex ending LEO/Mil program?

I was in my local rip off gun store and overheard a conversation that Vortex is no longer offering a LEO/Mil sales program. I checked Experticity (where I buy all of my optics) and it says unavailable.

Anyone have any any information on this?

I sure hope Vortex doesn’t fold under the pressure of the crybabies (certain dealers) who get upset that we get good deals and stop this program. If so I for one will stop looking toward them as a one stop solution and explore other options.

Hmm, I didn’t get that email I guess or I just deleted it without looking. Only about 13k more to go haha.

My LGS store just sold a guy a MOA Vortex Gen II 4.5x27 for a whopping $2499. He was a local deputy and I butted in and asked the guy behind the counter if he would help him out any. He quickly got angry like they always do and said that Vortex is no longer selling their optics to LEO/Mil at a discounted rate.

We are currently implementing new order management software in order to better serve all of our customers. During this process we are not shipping any orders and have temporarily suspended the experticity store,as BoilerUp mentioned. We will start shipping again on Jan 15. That is all that is happening. There are no changes to the MIL/LE program.

How is that hypocritical? I just usually shop with Vortex first due to their quality in my price range. If I wasn’t able to get something in my price range I would explore other options. If Vortex offers something I need I buy from them first due to their commitment to LEO/MIL AND the shooting community.

Lately I know they have been under fire from some people griping about their program and they wanted it to end.

Scott cleared up the rumors, they are implementing new software is all, I'm sure the local dealers are just blowing smoke where the sun don't shine, I can't tell you how many times I get the wrong information from the guys behind the counter. If you want to order something now it might be possible to contact Vortex direct, that is usually what I do. I would find it hard to believe Vortex would stop their program as the company is owned and run by Veteran's and have a high regard for those who've served our country. Even if you haven't served, you have the option of purchasing from one of the reputable Hide dealers here who can usually get you a smoking deal on a Vortex scope, it's always worth calling and asking what is the best deal, and tell them you are a Snipers Hide member and you might just be surprised at how good of a deal you can get.

There is ALLOT of hate towards Vortex for reasons I don't understand..

I've had enough of them to say I get what I expect for what they cost in each class, and I'm incredibly thankful they offer a good price to former military guys.

I see more and more Facebook groups and such bashing the hell out of them taking about 40% failure rates from their "in the know" sources. Then folks talking crap because the military crew gets a better price than the they must all just be overpriced since they can offer better price to them. Then of course half the time it turns out to be info from an Athlon salesman....

I can't speak for other retailers. Vortex has given us permission to use the LE/Mil program for Firefighters and EMS. We really are very happy to help out anyone who qualifies for these. I am the Medical Officer at our Volunteer Fire Department. We have quite a few guys here who are current and former military and law enforcement. We really appreciate those who serve. We appreciate getting the good guy discount and certainly are proud to move this along to you aswell. Thank you all for your service and dedication to our freedoms and way of life.

FWIW, I've ordered from Vortex for agency purchases, it really comes down to whether it is a high demand product or not. As you noted, some stuff comes in quickly, I'm still waiting on a pair of FURY HD rangfinding bino's.
They are, of course, going to fill the pre-existing orders first.
If you can swing the extra cash, i would recommend the Gen 1 Razor. The PST II is a dandy scope, but the Razor is better.

Like others have said their are dealers that will do some pretty good deals for non LE/MIL you just have to call. I have gotten some pretty good deals from a couple vendors on SH all I did was call and say “hey I am interested in X what is the best deal you can do on X” it really is that easy.
