Vortex fluted - Bull Sporter contour

Hey guys,

Finally got a chance to Vortex flute a lighter barrel for a buddy. It is a Kreiger Bull Sporter that has a 1.200 shank and is .750 at the muzzle at 26". 180 deg. of rotation. It machined very nicely and I think it looks "Bad Ass". I think it complements the Vortex bolt fluting very nicely. This is available "now" for those looking for something different. As soon as he gets it coated pics will follow. Thoughts,comments are always appreciated. Thanks for checking it out.

Paul, did you weigh this one? I asked on the last one you showed pics of too. My new T/R rig might new a few ounces shaved off is why I keep asking.

Haha, I'm sorry, but I have to agree. It'll definitely turn some heads at the range, but it's just not for me. I'd still like to see it installed on a finished gun, though. Waiting patiently for updates....

Really like your work. For future reference, would you be interested in turning some of my round blanks into octagon barrels? I have always had to buy premade octagon barrels but there are few to choose from.

Recoil,

With my current fixture for machining this style of fluting, it would not work ,unless the barrel had a helical rotation. I am assuming you are looking for a straight octagon barrel.

I'm kind of digging it. I would also like to see the completed package. Being of the one-off mentality, I think I would welcome that fluting on one of my rigs. Not bad at all.

Just got my barreled action and bolt off to Paul for the vortex look...also gonna spring for the coating so hang tight when he gets it back to me I will post it up....I cant wait!!

Love it! Send it to me bf, don't worry about shipping I'll take care of it. lol Serious, though, I have always hated the triangle rem barrel, but the fact that the muzzle is round, I think this would look sweet, save weight, heat, etc. I like it. It's different
