I just recently had the displeasure of working the USGA Open at Congressional County Club for 7 straight days. Now for the golfers among us that may seem like a joy, but to me it wasn't. Me and my Vortex spent that time bumping and banging around the course, me up front, the gun with optic, strapped into a canopy bag where a bag of clubs normally sit. Gun was sitting muzzle down with a bungee around the bag in the back of the cart. No pothole was missed, no divot left untouched, no blacktop curb not taken (at full speed as all golf carts are intended to be driven). Well after my time in hell I went out to the range and threw .6 on the elevation turret and ripped one off. CB shot was POA/POI at 200yds. Love the Vortex. And yes I'm easily amused.

I'm a little confused. So far I have: you worked at the Open and drove a golf cart around with your rifle on the back? Was this done after hours? Any funny looks? Sounds like a hell of a story haha.

Glad to hear it held for you. Seems like the initial runs had some hiccups but the reviews lately have been positive for the most part.

We were assigned to the open for the week. Covert so to speak with things in the bag other than a putter and some woods. Actual only high point was seeing a golfer with camo pattern pants. Too funny

Sounds a bit like a mall cop story....

"so there I was, riding down the mall corridor with my Uzi in a covert case on the front of my vespa"

Still don't get the point of rolling a GC with a covert rifle but meh if thats how you wanna get your jollies roll on golfer....

Either way been thinking hard about picking one of these up over a luep mk4 for the next rifle. Really gonna have to check em out.

What I don't understand is that if you are working security and you might need to use that rifle, why would you put a scope on there that you might have a slight expectation of it not taking the abuse?

I just got a PST too so I'm happy to hear your report, and I'm not trying to knock you.

Haha. Au revoir, gopher!

Anyways, I'm not expecting mine to break anytime soon. You can bet the great majority of the ones that have broken have been featured here on SH.

Even with some anti-PST folks trying to make mountains out of mole hills it still seems to be holding up pretty good. I'm not expecting mine to break anytime soon.
