I'm wanting feedback from someone who has both. Turns out, NF scopes aren't for me and I just sold one. I don't want to make the same mistake of buying one and not being happy with it. My problem with the NF is the resolution and higher magnifications.

Wow, you may get a fight here, not to many of us who own NF dislike them. To get great resolution at higher powers it takes good glass, yes there is better, but a whole bunch of them worse! I have shot the Razors, and the S&B's, and I wouldn't trade my F1 for either.

I've used a Razor HD before and really liked it but I'm not sure that it has better resolution or clarity than a NF. Maybe a little but honestly if you want a scope with markedly better glass than a NF you need to spend for a S&B or Zeiss.

I have a Razor and have shot NXS side by side. I put the glass as pretty close, but different. I prefer the color and contrast of the Razor over the NXS, but there are several who are just the opposite.
If you werent happy with the RESOLUTION (meaning the ability to see small things) then I suggest you just step up to the S&B scopes. I have compared them to the others, and there is a reason they cost what they do. I would have one (or several) if I was on an unlimited budget.

While I've seen better glass on the nicer German optics, I have to say that when it comes down to all the features and price, the Nightforce is hard to beat.
If I wanted to spend the extra $1k, I would get the S&B. I didn't care much for the Razor. At higher magnification, the eye relief was not that great. I had to keep my head in a perfect position.

If you are not looking at going above 15 power in a scope a good 1 to look at is the Premier Light Tactical. I received 1 not long ago and it is a super scope built like a tank. It is right their in the price as a F1 but you are limited to only 15 power and 2 choices in a tactical reticle.

When I was fantasizing about a S&B PM2 the prices I was finding were around 2500 for the 4-16 single turn and 2800 for the 5-25 (shop around, make some calls). So it's not 1k more than retail but depending on what you get for your used NF it may be 1k beyond that.
After reading about Liberty Optics' adventure I don't think I'd go Premier. I understand that MAP is a reality for all companies out there but that was just plain low.......

Not this again. Liberty Optics broke a set of rules that they were fully aware of. Everyone that deals with Premier was aware of their stance and informed, in writing, of their position.

BTW the Light Tactical is awesome, great glass, and lightweight. If you want something less expensive I got the new SWFA 5-20 and it's fantastic for the price point.

I have both. IMO, the NXS is the clear winner.(pun intended) I dont dislike the Razor at all, but at a heads comp at 15x the multiple F1s I own are noticeably clearer. The parralax adjustment seems ascew, With that said the Razor tracks PERFECTLY, and holds zero like a champ. Some minor fixes an Id have a few more of em, but they would never replace a F1. IMO, the F1 with the MLR2 reticle is as close to perfection in a tactical riflescope as one can get.

Capabilities/features-wise - IMHO Razor HD wins hands down.
Quality-wise - I'm happy with my Razor but have zero experience with NF, so can't compare.

I own several of both NF and Vortex and I love both. For me a lot has to do with the area and temp that I am shooting in. It may just be my eyes but NF seems to do very well out west in high dry altitudes and Vortex works great in low hot humid areas.

I have both the NF and IOR and think the IOR has a slight edge in terms of glass. Having said that I really like the NF scope a lot.

I own both. Razor is the winner on optics and engineering/features. Razor is a bit bulkier, but very much worth it IMO. Future purchases will be Razors.
