Hunting & Fishing Vortex razr gen2

I like the idea using h59 for hunting..now that razr came out with horus ret.
Anyone here hunting with this scopes or its too heavy for this purpose???...

It is a heavy ass scope if your humping mountains, but if your in a blind or stand or on a tripod it would be great for that.

Like everyone else has said, it's heavy, but I haul mine up a tree stand during deer season. Also, I only have to walk about 400 yds to my tree stand.

I tried amg and the feeling its not the same..and 34mm tube is nicer
Vortex should make gen3 a lighter version of gen2

That is a lot of scope for a hunting application especially at close to 50 ounces and its massive. H59 clogs up the view.

But I am a simple man and light is right, lightest is rightest.

Which would be a 34mm scope is good.i dnt mind tactical scopes like k525..but little cheaper

I tried to find a scope that I could put on a rifle and easily carry hunting or shoot steel. The problem is most long range tactical styles are too heavy and make the rifle top heavy. The AMG is the closest I found to a dual purpose. I went with a Swarovski X5 for a hunting scope and looking at options for a the target rifle with more weight. I’ll probably save my pennies and get an ATACR. I have a Viper HSLR to use until I can get th NF.

Definitely a great option and I believe it’s around 30oz.

What about them sig tango6 what you take on them

Bushnell HDMR2 has the H59 and weigh 34 ounces. and its cheaper. Just a though.

I don't think the Sigs have the Horus reticles available. I do have a 4-24 Tango6, and like it. Glass is better than my Gen 1 Razor, not as good as the Gen 2. Some people don't like the turrets in the Tango6. The clicks are a bit light, but not bad.

Leupold Mark 5 HD scopes can be had with Horus H59 reticles. They are also fantastic in the glass and lightweight department. Definitely worth a look. I use one on my rig because it is so lightweight and helps keep the balance of rifle right. A little heavy for a huting rig, but not bad at all...and I stalk hunt a lot.

Not (anymore) fans of leupold scopes.it left a bad taste in my mouth.and after seeing all neg feedback i decided not to touch it anymore

It’s a beast of a scope to lug through the woods. I would recommend going lighter speaking from personal experience
