That wait time sucks, hopefully it was a fluke. My OG XTR elevation turret wore out to the point it would actually rotate under recoil. I had it back, repaired, in about 2wks.I had a Burris xtr2 a few years ago that one day, I could see an O ring inside the scope, just hanging there…. Sent it back in, expecting a replacement…. What I got was a 4 month wait and a repair. No contact at all on their end to update me through the waiting period.

He’s talking about BHA. Vortex said they were going to try and change it from the inside LOL! They just like the publicity, nothing more.Probably Super Adventure Club. He's just pissed they wouldn't let him join.
I have seven Vortex Scopes and have never used their CS. And I am had on my gear. You have issues with ALL CS, because nobody likes you.........Exactly lol
The fact that everyone has had to use Vortex’s CS is a clue. (Myself included - fool me once and all that)
I am still trying to figure out how you fit 6 weeks between June 2nd and June 15th?I bought a Vortex Viper 5-25X50 FFP EBR-7C MRAD from Sport Optics0n June 2, 2022. When I received it the illuminated reticle did no work. Battery was DOA. Replace it with the spare battery it came with. Illumination worked for a little over 3 weeks and illumination did not work once again. Replaced it with a brand new Lithium 2032 battery. Once again lasted a little over 3 weeks. Sent to back to Vortex they repaired it on June 15 and I got it back Jun 16th.Tech report said Replaced illumination chip and battery. Ran several more tests not related to illumination problem. It is now 25 days since the repair was made (just little over 3 weeks again ) and the battery is dead again. To say I'm unhappy would be a vast understatement. Last time I ever buy a Vortex scope. Tomorrow i'lll contact them again and tell them I want a new scope as thy seem to be unable to repair this one.![]()
Am I being unreasonable?
I've got 3-4 Vortex scopes and Red Dots and have been very happy with them. Sorry you must be getting the duds. Maybe the third time is the charm! I have 2 Gen 1 PST's for ~ 10 years with the original batteries still in them. Check them once a year to be sure nothing untoward is occurring.I've got 3-4 Vortex scopes and Red Dots and have been very happy with them. Sorry you must be getting the duds. Good luck in future.
Yeah, but just wait for the de rigueur and abjectly stupid response of "if they made a better scope, you wouldn't have to use their warranty"I have used Vortex' customer service twice that I can think of
Well if they made better scopes, you wouldn’t have to use their warranty.Yeah, but just wait for the de rigueur and abjectly stupid response of "if they made a better scope, you wouldn't have to use their warranty"
When people like you say such dumb shit, it just proves you have no idea what you are talking about.Well if they made better scopes, you wouldn’t have to use their warranty.
So these two companies don’t manufacture scopes in factories in the United States?Every brand of cheap chicom/asian scopes will have similar failure rates as Vortex, because they are all made in the same places, same factories to same standards……. Leupold, Burris,
Calm down and eat a dick fag boy. It was a joke. When people like you say such dumb shit, it just proves you have no idea what you are talking about.
Every brand of cheap chicom/asian scopes will have similar failure rates as Vortex, because they are all made in the same places, same factories to same standards. Bushnell, Leupold, Burris, Athlon ect.
Vortex is bigger than all of those companies combined. They are a billion dollar optics company that is only going to get bigger as they move into military contracts.
The difference is, when Vortex fails or has an issue, or you run over it with your truck, you will have a replacement within a week. No dicking around, no bullshit excuses, no sitting in a parts bin for 5 months waiting for them to get around to look at it. No fighting with CS arguing who is to blame.
Their Japan and US made scopes are among the most reliable and durable scopes you can buy, AT ANY PRICE. They are making the future optics for the US military small arms.
So again, feel free to shut the fuck up if you don't know what you are talking about. Better to be thought a fool that speak and remove all doubt.
fag boy? That's rich coming from a Cali cocksucker.Calm down and eat a dick fag boy. It was a joke.
What two companies? So these two companies don’t manufacture scopes in factories in the United States?
Well that’s interesting.What two companies?
Leupold imports almost everything and assembles some shit here. They got their dicks slapped by FTC and had to remove made in USA from all their shit because apparently having something 90% built in china and then adding some caps and cosmetic shit does not qualify as made in the US. I shoot with their enginners, have friends who work there and live 30 minutes from their factory/HQ. Leupold does a real good job obscuring where their stuff is made and sourced.
Burris like vortex has stuff made in China, Philippines, Japan and the USA. Their stuff made in the USA, you can guess where they are sourcing the parts from, at the price points they sell. Actually a big fan of the XTR3 stuff, so its not a knock against them, just reality. Stuff made in the US sourced from western nations is expensive. Labor to build them is expensive.
When comparing optics, compare the country of origin since alot of these are OEM designs or slight tweaks.
This ^^I’ll just throw in that you can get pretty much any quality level you wish to specify from Chinese factories. But, real quality costs about as much there as it does anywhere else, so the cost advantage of Chinese manufacture evaporates.
