We designed it to be the most true 1x on the market and we did some interesting things with the eye relief to make this the fastest 1x of any variable on the market. It really has to be seen to be fully appreciated.

The way the eye relief works is that the outline of the scope body is very minimal in the FOV using both eyes. The eye relief is also extremely forgiving, so you don't have to have your eye even centered behind the scope. There is a lot of latitude to move your eye around in the eye box and still see the reticle. This includes side to side movement, or front to back. The eyebox is really huge on this thing.

All of this amounts to giving the impression of not even really looking through a scope at all, but just having the reticle float out in front of your field of vision.

It gives the truest impression of looking through a red dot of any 1-4x24 that we have ever tested. We'll have them at SHOT for people to look at, so I'm sure you'll be hearing about it from people who get a chance to look through them there.

Also, they are daylight bright. Here is a sneak peak of the actual reticle.

Captain, I would say the turrets are more similar to M3 height.

It's not an easy thing to do to make a reticle daylight bright.

We finally got a design that we think achieves this.

We've been testing it in a variety of conditions and about the only time we couldn't see the reticle illumination was in bright sun against fresh snow. However, the retcile was still easily visible and contrasted well with the background. As soon as we moved it over anything less bright than snow in the sun the red popped right out.

In short, we haven't seen any conditions where the reticle wasn't easily visible and and very fast.

We're pretty happy with the performance and we think customers are going to like it a lot.

It's calibrated at the highest magnification on all SFP models. However, there are click stops in the mag ring at magnification multiples, so you can effectively range at other magnifications.

For example, on the 4-16x50 model the reticle is calibrated for 16x. However, if you divide 16x by 2 you simply multiply the reticle subtensions by 2, so there is a click stop at 8x. If you divide 16x by 3 you multiply the reticle subtensions by 3, so there is a click stop at 5.3x. And if you divide 16x by 4 you multiply the reticle subtensions by 4.

Question. Why only 5 mil holdover on the 16x SFP? I'd give up heavy stadia for 8, then I can reach over 1000 yds. w/o dialing. Under normal circumstances at that range I'd dial, but It'd be nice to have the capability. Just my .02.

No... probably not with a .308. My 300WM is 7.1 mil to 1000 at 4000f ASL w/208 Amax's which on this scope is over 1 revolution on the turret. Like I said, normally I'd dial it, time permitting... it'd just be nice to be able to do it if moving quickly from zero and/or back. It's definitely not a deal killer for me, just part of my wish list.

i am realy interested when the 2.5-10 mrad is brought out in FFP aswell it will replace a leupold VxIII on my 7mmSAUM as i am after an illuminated FFP scope to work on it.

I am also very interested in the 6-24X50 FFP mrad scope will you send them to Australia? also i have a good condition 1" steel tube Kahles 8X56s scope on my 6mmBR i want to replace with the Vortex would you do a trade with it?

Don't worry. That's no the case on the PST's. The optics are completely redesigned and the PST's have very large eyeboxes and longer eye relief.

Yes, that is correct. The turrets aren't quite as big as the Razor's (due to not having the RZR zero stop), but otherwise they are very similar.

IIRC they arent offering the 2.5-10 in FFP but I prefer FFP much more than SFP. Id get the 6-24 in FFP no matter what if you could only chose one because higher mag equals better and more precise range estimation. Im hoping theyll be coming out with a FFP spotter soon...

Are the turrets on the 1-4X24 exposed? If so are there any plans to offer covered turrets on this model? Also any plans to offer covered turrets on the 2.5-10?

Also I have a suggestion. On the 2.5-10 scopes. Put a dot on the full mill marks instead of a hash. Add a circle (like the versa-plex C-3). The circle should intersect the first set of dots. The traditonal mil-dot with a hash at the half will be easier to holdover with, and the circle will help speed at close range. Kind of a do it all optic. With covered turrets, and an objective small enough to fit in a set of low ringe on a continuous rail, I think it would be just right.
