It's funny because first I bought a Steyr LGB1 Biathlon trainer pcp air rifle for plinking in my yard and liked the concept so much I decided I'd buy a Fortner 1827F 22rf.Man, that thing is cool
Fortner actions = It's just one of those things you run across in life that is above everything else you've tried before and from then on going back doesn't "do it" for you anymore. Around 12 years ago, and about 10 minutes of running the action from the time I got my 1827F I was totally sold on it.
Then in NRL22 I was able to shoot almost as fast as 10-22's but had all the precision of a bolt gun. I used to win the stages where the positions were awkward because I didn't have to break position and could stay there and keep firing away and I'd win matches solely because of the extra speed and convenience of staying in position, and the gun being so reliable. It was only by a few points but often that's all it takes to get the W.
And now looking how far this melding of modern chassis, plus the more rigid 1727 action, that has come to fruition, I almost want to sell some stuff to go for it but nah for what I do nowadays with 22's I'll stay in my lane and besides I still win a match here and there in a Field Target style match I compete in.
