Wanted southeastern Virginia nrl 22

Any other southeast Virginia guys on here? I’d like to get some people together and find a range or club or even private land to start up a 22 league in se Virginia. Closest nrl 22 matches to me are 6 hours away. I’m in Virginia Beach but anywhere in Hampton Roads would be awesome or even within an hour or so. It looks like a great time and I love 22 rifle shooting. Anybody interested? Any ideas? I don’t care if it’s informal or not just want to get some people of like mind together and have some fun.

This isn't as close as you'd prefer, but the Alexandria IWLA (range in Stafford, VA) shoots NRL22 monthly.

"On Sunday, February 23, 2020, IWLA Shooting Sports will be hosting our next NRL22 match. This is a precision rifle match shooting 0.25” – 6” targets at distances from 15 yards to 100 yards with a .22LR rifle from various positions. This is a national match with a standardized course of fire shot monthly at clubs all around the country. For more information, see https://nrl22.org/

We will be shooting the February 2020 course of fire: https://nrl22.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/NRL22-February-2020-COF.pdf

The match will occupy the left side of the rifle range, and the right side of the rifle range will remain open to RSO-controlled recreational fire for members - much like on a guest day. Please be prepared for occasional short breaks to allow rec shooters to set up, tear down, and repair targets.

0830 – 0900 Safety Brief, Match Description

0900 – 0930 Zero confirmation**, DOPE gathering**, Q&A

0930 Match Begins

**We may need to skip zeroing and DOPE gathering to keep on schedule for a 0930 start. Please come prepared. **

Those arriving after the safety brief and match description are welcome to watch but will not be allowed to shoot.

$20 Members, $30 Sponsored Guests, under 18 FREE.

The nationally posted matches will always consist of 5 stages – 2 prone, 1 barricade, 1 positional (sling only), and 1 wildcard stage which could be any of the above. Each stage will have 10 targets and a maximum of 10 rounds fired per stage, for a total of 50 shots. However, due to the unreliability of .22LR ammo, it is recommended to bring extra.

What you need:

- .22LR rifle with detachable magazine. Scope with ranging reticle recommended, but not required

- Chamber flag (If you do not have one, one will be provided)

- Two magazines (at least one should be 10+ rounds)

- .22LR ammo (no other calibers allowed)

- Sling, bipod, sandbags, spotting scopes, shooting mats recommended, but not required

- Ear and eye protection

Recommendation: Bring ammo sold in 50-100rd boxes with individually held rounds rather than bulk boxes of loose ammo. Generally, this indicates higher quality.

Bring what you have, and we will make it work. Do not go buy tons of equipment until you understand what does or doesn’t work for you. Most folks are more than willing to share bags, mats, etc. Just ask!

There is the Northern VA Gun Club in King George having awesome matches on the 3rd Sunday. Starting next month they will also have a MARS match concurrent with the NRL22. So 10 stages total, you can just shoot the 5 NRL22 stages if you want.
During the January end of month video they mentioned a new NRL22 club in Disputanta, VA which is even closer for me. But I have not seen anymore info on it and could not find it via google search.

Frontline in Warrenton NC has a regular series I believe.

BXR mags do not fit the B 14R. The correct part number for the mag for a B 14R is BA0016.

For NRL22 2 mags is nice, but you can complete the course with one if you don't have any misfires or jams (feeding/extraction issues).

Yeah, I noticed the mag in the photo didn't match what I had then I went to the Bergara website and seen the part number. I got a refund.
