Has anyone used one of these? I have used Warne scope rings decades ago and I found those to be good products, but I have not tried any of their new products.

I obtained this Warne X-SKEL Mount recently and was thinking of using it to mount a Nightforce 2.5-10 x 42 scope on a Daniel Defense MK12.

I mounted the scope and it looks good. The instructions said to tighten the cap screws to 25 in/lb, but I backed off to 20 in/lb. The curved shape of the rings restrict adjustment forward and rearward so you have to rely on the Picatinny rail slots for adjustment. I added a set of Tenebraex flip up covers that I feel should have been included from Nighforce.

I've had good and bad luck with them. A couple years ago I got 2 of them from 20 MOA 30mm gray versions from Brownells and both them fit "odd" in that you could tell the top caps were not round, they would not sit flush on top of the optic tube on 3 different scopes. You could also see from the marks on the insides of the rings they were not fully contacting the tube. The finish of these gray version almost felt gummy where my older black mounts appear to be anodized, those are all 0 MOA and have been great.

That said Warne was super awesome, they confirmed that was not normal and replaced both mounts with versions that didn't have the issue and those have been great as well.

As others have said they are the cheapest canti mount I'll consider, but I have to admit after this the Seekins MXM is now my "budget" go to canti mount.
