Decade ever? Mostly the early/mid 90's. As a kid growing up in the 90's, very few things were "bad", the best I can remember. The economy was booming, hunting/fishing was extremely high, sports were the best ever, movies were top notch, SNL was actually funny, and politics werent shoved down your throat every direction you turned. Sure, there was still politics, as with every decade, but it wasnt as extreme as it is now. When watching the NFL/NBA, there was no political commentary or commercials. SNL made fun of both parties. Movies/shows didnt embed political agendas in every scene.

People generally supported the POTUS, no matter the party. People wanted the country to succeed in every aspect. They didnt root for the country to collapse like they do today of their guy/woman didnt win.

There were no cellphones or mainstream internet, people were productive and kids were kids. Fast food was actually pretty damn good. They used real ingredients. McDonalds in the 90's tasted so much better than the McDonalds in 2019. Dominos was also 10x better in the 90's.

Vehicles were easier to work on. You could pretty much DIY if you had a basic grasp on mechanics. You could reach all the spark plugs without pulling the engine. Or pull off the cab the change fuel injectors on a diesel.

$20 in the 90's (and every decade before) was actually a nice bill to carry around. Could buy you a half tank+ of gas and fill your belly.

English was the tongue of the land, the pledge of allegiance was sang before class in every school and black/white race issues were basically non existent. Much like they were prior to 2008. As soon as Obama was elected into office, suddenly the entire country was now "racist". However that works...

The same argument can be made for the late 80's. But I was just a youngin at that time. Im sure I missed some important points about the early/mid 90's, but these are the thing that stood out to me personally.

The 90's also had Garth Brooks, and real country music. That alone fixes the flash in the pan grunge the 90's had.
"Real country music" in the 90's? You forgot to put the sarcasm emoji after that, right? REAL COUNTRY MUSIC ended in the 70's.

All that other stuff is just bad rock n roll, just like grunge. And i don't like country or grunge

I think it's obvious that any era in that you are eighteen to twenty five years old feels like the best era ever. Everything was better, girls were prettier, children were more respectful, gas was cheaper, cars were stylish, even the air smelled sweeter.

When the '90's ended it was the end of the old and the beginning of uncharted territory. A new century now and everything has changed and it ain't going back to simple again. I liked the '80's as well but that shit is gone never to return.

Gotta look forward. Can't go back.

I came of age in the 90’s, graduated HS in 1994. I can see the good points from the OP, but we also had the assault weapon ban and the tech bubble. Don’t forget that the housing crisis groundwork was laid by Democrats in the late 1990’s.

For the record, Country music is shit since the early 70’s. Just like rap music turned to shit in about 1995 and alt rock/grunge was ruined post 2000.

The 50's was the best time to live when America was still America, women had vaginas and men had penises it was simple and straight forward.

Yep, I grew up in that era. I like Ike.

To me, though its as much area as era.

I grew up in rural Virginia where at night it still got so dark you couldnt see your hand in front of your face, the Milky way was huge, and it was quiet. I could piss off the porch and shoot my .22 in any direction and not have to worry about it. The air smelled like honeysuckle and oak trees and we could swim in the creek behind the house.

I have a buddy who grew up in NYC and Ive spent time there since. How people survive surrounded by nothing but conctere is beyond me. Id go ballistic in a couple of weeks. Ill grant there was much more exposure to 'culture'...museums, orchestra, plays, etc. and Ive learned to appreciate that aspect of life, but given the choice Id rather be where Saturday night is spent listening to the trees grow.

Viewing it from my point, that happened in November 1963 when the CIA collaborated with the Mafia to execute John Kennedy and seize power for the military industrial complex. It was like the end of innocence for America.

If you forget the Brady Bill and all the awb bullshit then yeah, it was cool.

I'll take the hard Rock music from the early 2000's and the 80's though.

And so many more........................the 80's, that's why

An entire list of 80’s hotties that are now dried up beef jerky style poon... I see your list and from the 90’s I’ll raise you:

PJ Harvey
Gwen Stephani
Shirley Manson
Ladies of Luscious Jackson
Bjork
Liz Phair
Tanya Donnelly from The Breeders
Jewel (when she was cute and innocent)

From about 1980 until 1990, was a great time to be a strong, healthy man. When you went into a bar or club, seen a "Target rich environment", you knew what you were getting into. Not like shit today, "My god, this B*%#@, is got a hard-on". Times have really changed since I was a single guy. Mac:D

All of which will be dried up jerky in 5 - 10 years.

Can you count?

If I ended a widower tomorrow, my first destination is Brazil

NO FUCKING WAY I'm getting involved with any American woman of today.

Hell, by the time my wife gets done with me, I'm going to be about used up for all practical purposes. I'm going to have to use my other "skills", to be of any use until Gabriel blows his horn. Mac

I believe his 80’s list was specifically hot poon to bone or jack off to, not the quality of the music. Other than Janice Joplin, your list is a sausage party, and Janice probably had a hairy bush.

exactly, Garth Brooks.......... the man that voted for Obama TWICE and thought obama was the best thing to come along since Trisha Yearwood.

I dont appreciate his political views. He had some good music though. Over 75% of musicians are democrats, fyi. Much like movie stars. There is a 100% chance that a song you like and probably listen to on a regular basis, was written by a liberal.

No, he didn’t. It’s all pop country drivel. Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton signify the ruination of proper country music. They’ve continued to push the limits of horrible with shit acts like Luke Bryan and some of the crossover country rapping acts we’ve been subjected to. Garth Brooks sucks.

I’ll acknowledge that most of the mainstream acts are liberals from coastal cities. That doesn’t excuse a supposed country star for voting D. That’s like NASCAR coming out as anti gun, it doesn’t fit with their fans. The dixie chicks certainly shot themselves in the foot protesting against Bush. There are some great conservative artists like Johnny Ramone.

Ahhh. The Dead Kennedy's. Sex Pistols and a few others helped drown out that disco crap.
Thanks for the mention of the dead Kennedy.

Ok, so, 3 assassinations and a fake moon walk was the highlights? I dont think Id call vietnam a "highlight" of the 60's. Woodstock, eh.........all music sounds good when youre high as fuck.

Can't say it was the best decade, but it certainly was the last decade that kids were actually allowed to be kids without a flock of helicopter parents hovering over everything they do like parents nowadays do. As far as the music back then goes, can't beat good old fashioned early 90s gangsta rap!
