Weatherflow Wind Meter Issues

I picked up a Weatherflow wind meter and am having issues with it dropping connection with my phone. Ballistic ARC will pick it up and then drop the connection with the device. I was able to calibrate the compas and I am currently trying to update the firmware and then it drops off. My phone is new Samsung Galaxy S9.

An I not holding my mouth right or is there a specific order of operation that I am not doing?

Firmware update to the latest release would definitely be a first step. They could have fixed a particular issue in the latest firmware.

I don't own one of these, but it appears that firmware updates from within the app perhaps (so I can't look at a change log to see what they fixed right off hand).

Thats how I am trying to update the firmware, through the app. But the device keeps dropping off.

Yeah that is sort of a catch 22 there. I wonder if just for sake of trying you could pair it with a different device just to update the firmware? Friend's phone, tablet, etc.

Close your ballistic program. Go into your Weatherflow app on your phone and go into the settings. Click on "Maximum Sample Period." It's defaulted to 1 minute. Set it to the "infinity" setting. That should do it!

I had some issues when I had it. It’s to be expected given its price point.

My issues were with the StrelokPro app finding it. I’d have to close and open app several times.

I eventually upgraded to a kestrel and couldn’t be happier. I think that is the natural progression most experience.

I have one, and like it. I did find that it can only be used with one shooting app at a time, or it gets confused.

A friend of mine has a newer galaxy and was having trouble getting the weather meter to pair. It would pair fine with my iPhone and another friends android device.

It was something to do with his phone not picking up the weather meter device.

Try emailing them and see if they can help out. They were very responsive to him.

I had the same issue and figured out it was because my friends phone was picking up my meter
