Finally after some time I've been able to build my self a good quality bolt gun. It's a little different than shooting AR platform but I got use to it pretty quickly. I got to stretch it's legs this past weekend out to 500 yards. I'm extremely thrilled what this rifle did stock and for this being the third range session that I've had with it.

Build
Remington AAC-SD .308
Bell and Clarkson M40 stock
Timney 510 Trigger
Nightforce scope base
Seekin rings
Vortex Viper PST 6-24 FFP
KRG Bolt knob
AAC Brakeout 2.0 (still waiting)

Damn good lookin rig there. Solid shooting as well. Is that a Vortex scope level?

Thanks! and yes it is a vortex level.

Awesome rifle and shooting. But, the bolt knob blob must go. Just to nice of a rifle to put that on. Just my personal opinion.

Regards, Paul

Paul, I'm split on it to be honest. I got this rifle for a good deal from the LGS and "built" it (more like assemble it) to see if I would like this side of the sport. Which I'm hooked. I'm a left handed shooter by nature (pistol I'm right handed, cross dominate eye as my left eye is dominate).

When I get the stock inlet for some DMB I'll probably get the bolt chopped and threaded.

Thank you,

It's a stock action with no bedding work. I bough the rifle home from the lgs and threw it in the BC stock. Then after bedding the scope base and installed the optic I went shooting

went and shot 705 yards in some nasty wind for NC. First time shooting at this distance. I'm happy, all are "close enough"

Nice unit mate and great results for you there to back it in , these AAC rifles just want to shoot , you can spend a lot more for your one hole groups :) but I've seen enough of these little rifles doing it to know that you don't have to

What's the difference in 510 vs 510 ce

The 510 CE is the premium model for Remington's. Is also called the "Calvin Elite". Has dual sears vs a single sear and can be reliably adjusted down to light pull weights. I ordered mine set for 8 oz. and it's as consistent in the "break" as any trigger I've ever shot.

Use wax and JB weld to bed the scope base.

One can also leave out the wax. Just de-grease the action and scope base well then J-B (or Devcon) it to the action in a semi-permanent installation. Just wax the mounting screws so if you ever do want to remove them you can. If it's ever necessary to remove the base then some heat and a "whack" with a cowhide mallet will take it right off.

I use my scope rails to stiffen the action so I prefer this method on my "Precision" rifles. Kind of like a poor man's way of getting an integrated scope rail.

I use wax on the receiver in case I ever need to remove the rail for whatever reason it may be. I place play-doh in the holes so no JB gets in the threads. Tomato - Tom-a-to.

OP all I can say is don't touch it, prove it at distance and be happy. A few stories going around of guys searching for the "one holer" modifying their guns only to find it shooting worse in the end. Good luck and happy shooting.
