Illinois Nazi's. I hate Illinois Nazi's!!!

I remember the whole Skokie trial thing from when I was a kid. That the Blues Brothers put it in the movie and made the Illinois Nazi's look like complete morons was amazing! They drove a Pinto... they painted plaster eagles. "I've always loved you...."

This is what ends racism. Not burning Wendy's. Blues Brothers and Blazing Saddles did more to end racism than decades of carrying on and sit-ins and bad behavior. After that movie, the "American Nazi Party" all but folded up and turned into a caricature of the idiots portrayed in the movie. Noone saw romance. They saw morons.

"It's 106 miles to Chicago. We have a full tank of gas. Half a pack of cigarettes. It's dark. And we're wearing sunglasses." "Hit it!"

One of my favorite movies. I watched it about a week ago.

Illinois Nazis. I hate Illinois Nazis .
I think I have seen that movie about 200 times... if it's on... I am watching it. I know every line. Even the License Plate on the Bluesmobile...

That I have not found a big block Chrysler 440 Police Cruiser and made a Blues Mobile is surprising. Dont' think I have not thought about doing it.

And, yes, still the best line in the movie!

Cheers,

Sirhr

Have you seen the uncensored/full length version of 1941 ? The barracks scene with the whitewash/paintbrush is hysterical !

I watched Blazing Saddles for Father’s Day because Dad got to pick the movie.....
So many iconic movies, so little time.

I liked Blues Brothers and 1941.
I didn’t really like Neighbors.

I enjoyed Cone Heads as more spin-off from when SNL was funny.

If you don't have Blazing Saddles on Blu Ray, You might want to get it. You know it's not going to last long in today's world.
