I just spent 11 days straight on the road doing a bunch of back to back hunts. The first 2.5 days were spent chasing Free Range corsicans in Val Verde county. The Corsicans were just about as hard to hunt as an Aoudad this time around but everyone still got there ram. A hog was solidly hit but lost in the brush and quite a few free range Axis were seen. Total Corsicans seen were over 200.
In between the hunts we ran over to one of my ranches with some Axis on it and right into the hunt (106 degrees by the way) I spotted this beautiful buck sleeping in the oaks. A quick stalk and great shot and he was DRT. Spensor (the client) had a blast.
Stay tuned for part 2 and 3. I had the pleasure of having outdoor writer Mark Hampton out on a hand gun hunt....
